The staff at Kayana were all very polite, courteous and helpful. Each and everyone never fail to greet you when they see you. Service was tip top. Pool has some dust/sand particles and insects sometimes but it’s near a beach so maybe that’s why. Location is near the harbour and has direct access to beach which can also be accessed by the public. Good if you are planning to travel to Gili Islands. However outside the villa there is nothing much, will have to drive to go to nearest restaurant and not easy to get taxi. We had a driver who brought us everywhere. The Blues Restaurant in the villa was sufficient for us - served good food, very affordable too and overlooks beautiful view especially at sunset. The inclusive breakfast was also worth it. Have to mention that the villa is very near a mosque and the calls to prayer starts as early as 5am. We did not mind it at all though. Overall Kayana made our stay in Lombok an amazing one!

Seven Secrets by Hanging Gardens

This is a quite new, well-maintained mini-resort hotel in the middle of nowhere, adjacent to a row of shanty food stalls (warungs), on a nice stretch of west-facing Lombok beach. It’s a solid hour and a half from Lombok airport and you’ll appreciate the airport transfer in a brand new vehicle, even if you’ll be struck by the juxtaposition (and perhaps engage in some self-reflection) as you look out the window at the island’s extensive poverty. The beach by the hotel is pleasant - though not “white sand”, as some have suggested. The sunsets are magnificent and a real highlight of the hotel. There was a particularly peaceful moment of total aesthetic perfection during one evening’s sunset that I absolutely treasured. The staff are all very friendly and highly attentive, with mixed levels of English. Generally enough for mutual understanding. The two minor gripes with the service are that: (a) a couple of things we’d asked about had to be followed up more than once before they materialised; and (b) food orders generally took forever to arrive. Neither issue was a big deal but, on the latter issue, I’m still mystified at how it can take 45 minutes for a meal to be brought out even on occasions when we were the only ones eating. The wifi was generally good throughout the hotel. The rooms - especially the ocean-facing rooms - are fantastic. I could happily have spent the week working away on the balcony, listening to the gentle waves and looking out over the water. The room is well-appointed, with a large, firm bed and a very pleasant private outdoor shower. It is usually serviced twice daily and the supplies of (essential) bottled water replenished. Be aware that, due to the proximity to a nearby mosque, you will likely be woken up each day (in our case at around 4.15am) by the amplified call to prayer from the local Muezzin. Not much you can do about that; you’re in Indonesia. The hotel pool is wonderful and the sun beds excellent and comfortable, though the muzak played through speakers by the beach and pool areas can be a bit much at times. The individual jacuzzis on the balcony of each room are a bit “extra” - probably a little unnecessary and over the top - but certainly not a negative. In short, the attractive marketing pictures are, indeed, a fair reflection of the hotel. In our case, we had a couple of massages included in our package and they were excellent. Kudos to the spa staff. We also booked two day trips through the hotel during our stay: - a snorkelling trip to the Gili Islands; and - a two-hour drive to a guided waterfall hike in the middle of the island, followed by a 90 minute drive to the large mosque in Mataram and another 45 minute drive to a coastal Hindu temple. The trips themselves were good but there were two issues with them. Firstly, they were bloody overpriced. 3.5 million rupiah for each trip was very expensive but we weren’t in the mood to shop around so we just went with it. Secondly, the hotel offered no

Un ottimo hotel padronale sull'isola di T, ci sono 15 ville con servizio di maggiordomo, una villa singola debolmente sotto un boschetto di cocco, con uno stile unico di un'isola tropicale; relativamente poche persone si stabiliscono ed è molto tranquilla. ristorante, I camerieri e le donne delle pulizie erano molto entusiasti e mi hanno persino chiesto di fare delle foto per loro. È stata un'esperienza molto felice. La spiaggia dell'hotel, le camere della villa e le piscine sono tutte fantastiche, ma il prezzo è un po' caro. Ho soggiornato per una notte e me ne sono andato, ho fatto molte foto, video come ricordo;

FANTASTICO, ci siamo trovati benissimo. Abbiamo alloggiato in questo mini resort ben curato per 6 giorni alle Gili, ed è stato un sogno, per vari motivi: - posizione: fronte spiaggia bianchissima, giri l'angolo e vedi il tramonto, sei appena alla fine del paesello centrale, con la bici arrivi comunque ovunque - qualità: stanza fronte piscina bella, ottimo letto, spaziosa, veranda bella e ottimo bagno. - servizi: sono GENTILISSIMI, ma non la solita gentilezza indonesiana, di più, cioè ci portavano i biscotti al cioccolato... così... nel pomeriggio, come regalino. E poi alla fine ci han fatto trovare una mini torta come regalo per il pernottamento! E' stato FANTASTICO, mai successo e loro ci han fatti sentire ACCOLTI! - piscina e spiaggia: attrezzata, trovi sempre posto o comunque non devi impazzire, piscina non immensa ma mai veramente caotica. - ristorante e colazione: Colazione di VERA qualità, con prodotti naturali di qualità e possibilità di espresso o cappuccino senza problemi. In poche parole, abbiamo visto anche tutti gli altri alberghi dell'isola, ma questo è secondo noi quello che poteva avere le caratteristiche migliori. Magari a pari di un altro, è vero, ma qua andate sul sicuro. Consigliato tanto tanto

We just had the best 4 nights staying at Kokomo. The 2 bedroom villa was amazing with plenty of space and a private pool. Everything was clean and having chilled filtered water was a lifesaver. The staff are so friendly and helpful and made our stay so enjoyable. They organised our own private snorkelling trip and worked really hard to cater for our every need. The breakfast was great, as were all the meals and cocktails. We were happy to just eat mostly at the resort as there was plenty of variety on the menu and the quality of the food was perfect for us all. We loved our stay here, and hope to return soon.
