Room was a bit dated, door needed effort to get it to close properly. Carpet had some stains on/could have done with a hoovering.
Friendly/helpful staff. Hotel is in a great location. Decent breakfast.

酒店位置好好,好近火車站,但是設施好殘舊,入酒店大堂只有樓梯,十分不便

Had the miss-fortune of staying in this wonderful building for our son’s birthday….the pictures on the website must be from when the hotel first got refurbished many moons ago because it’s nothing like it now. The room cost £153 for 4 of us with breakfast, this was £100 too expensive for the standard of the room. The room stinks as there is absolutely no ventilation, the windows are painted shut, the heater/air con was broken, no extraction of any kind in any room so it was was unbearably hot. The phone didn’t work, the skirting was falling off the walls leaving exposed wires, the lights didn’t work, the iron didn’t work, the kitchen worktop looked like it came out of a warzone. It was supposed to be titanic themed….it had a plastic chandelier that hung dangerously low from the ceiling. The spa bath was nice (when it was installed in 1972) I must say that the bed was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was lovely and the staff were exceptionally nice, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and deserve the utmost credit for working there. The owners of this incredibly important building should hang their heads in shame for letting it fall into such dis-repair. Vote with your feet people and hopefully they will do something about it. *the staff and management deserve credit because they are in no way to blame for the state of the place*

I am sure back in the day this hotel would have been a lovely place as some of the features and decorations can still been seen. The staff and welcome to the hotel was very nice, the staff were very friendly, but lacking in professionalism. Everything about the hotel now is tired, worn and dirty. The room was for 3 of us and looked very tired and could have been made better with a damn good clean. My sister had to pay £100 holding fee in case of breakages. That should have been paid to her, as there was so much wrong with the room. The corridors were dirty and stained a was the room. All the furniture was worn and chipped/damaged in some way. The mould in the bathroom was bad. The taps twirled round when you tried to turn them off, in fact they never went off. Their water bill must be astronomical as they run for two days. When I untucked the sheet to get into bed the sheets were stained with what looked like pen or paint. Obviously put on the underside so they would not be seen (see photos). We mentioned this to the receptionist as we were worried about my sisters deposit. He said don’t worry we will not charge you………no offer to change them as they don’t clean the rooms on a Saturday.
