Pousada Alfama

Ho prenotato una camera con vista sul Tago con grandi aspettative e finora esperienze molto positive con le pousadas in Portogallo. Tuttavia, a nostro avviso, questo hotel non merita il nome di pousada. Una stanza piccolissima, un bagno ancora più piccolo e un letto “queen size” proporzionato alla piccola stanza. E questo ad un prezzo di circa 250€. Il personale molto gentile, il minibar gratuito (cola, birra) e la sala colazione molto bella non possono compensare la delusione. Scusa Pestana, non di nuovo così.

Hotel molto carino ad Alfama. Eravamo proprio nel mezzo di un bellissimo quartiere. Il personale era molto gentile e la colazione era buona. La camera era piccola ma molto confortevole e la vista era incredibile!!

Excellent stay. Stayed here from Sunday 21rst until today Wednesday the 24th. Would highly recommend. Excellent location. Staff are very friendly, willing to help and non imposing. Will definitely come back if in Lisbon again. Thanks for everything. Cathy

Stayed at this hotel between 11th and 15th March. All the staff we met spoke excellent English so checking in was very easy. The staff are very pleasant, knowledgeable and very keen for you to have a brilliant stay. We had a room which overlooked the courtyard at the back, our room was very quiet and even though our room was close to the lift we heard no noise. Our room was extremely clean and made up every day to the same standard. There was plenty of space for us to hang our clothes on the shelves and rack provided. The bed mattress was of a super standard and would be delighted to have that mattress at home! The mini bar was stocked and free (though you have to pay to have it restocked) and the free local liqueur and ceramic tile were a lovely touch and very much appreciated. This hotel is located in an excellent area where there is easy access to the many sights of Lisbon. Be prepared for lots of walking up and down the hills, the modern trams are frequent and fast, the old ones are packed but fun. There are plenty of places to eat near to the hotel, in particular Pizza Romana Alfama and Santa Restaurante & Bar. Further away but walkable is Solar 31 Da Calçada for superb seafood, book all of these online so not to be disappointed. I can’t recommend staying at this hotel enough, great breakfast, superb location with lovely staff.

We've just stayed 4 nights and it was an excellent base situated near the old Alfama area and near to 2 beautiful viewpoints. Yes, its at the top of a hill but Lisbon is built on hills and tram 28 does pass right outside which is always busy unless you get on early morning or later in the evening. You can also catch tram 12. Hotel was clean, bedroom small (but very comfortable) and little place to unpack but we weren't in the room for long - too much to see and do! Staff very helpful on giving us helpful tips where to go what to see & breakfast delicious. Loved the gifts of Gingja liquor, pastel de natas, first use of room fridge and a portuguese traditional tile. Thank you. Highly recommend staying here.

Stayed for 3 nights at the beginning of our Portuguese holiday. Luckily with no car as parking is a nightmare. Our room was a comfort terrace room and had no view. I had thought that I had booked a Comfort Balcony but when I checked my email confirmation I realised my mistake. However, the room although not big was comfortable with nice furnishings and good bathroom. Breakfasts were very good. The staff were excellent both at reception and in the breakfast room. The hotel does not over evening meals but there are many restaurants nearby. The famous 28 tram stops just metres away from the hotel. Be warned it is always full. Overall a great place to stay in Lisbon.

We stayed in a Superior Double room with river view for 4 nights and it was excellent! If I could rate this hotel a 10, I would. The location is fantastic in the historic Alfama area with easy access to restaurants, shops and sites (via walking, trolley, metro). Our room was a very nice size with all the amenities. The view was fantastic over the river and the front outdoor patio and the balcony doors kept out the noise nicely. The bathroom was small, but that was easily manageable since there was extra mirror space and many power outlets in the bedroom. Breakfast buffet was very nice and they also offered eggs cooked to order. All of the staff including reception, breakfast and housekeeping, were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this boutique hotel!
