The grounds are beautiful and the Lodge is nicely done. We did not stay or see the Inn, but the rooms/suites looked to be a good size and offered more traditional resort perks such as nightly turn-down service with a cookie, a social, and an inclusive breakfast. Overall, it was "resort-like" but fell short. The Lodge rooms were comfortable and had mountain-themed decor that was tastefully done. The Lake View (only available on one side) was picturesque. It was small, quant, and clean, but the shops, pantry, recreation area, spa, etc. were at best, "ok" but the website descriptions have some marketing creativity as it stretches what is actually there. The recreation areas and other amenities were average, but they did have some unique family recreational games (and organized game nights), yard games (on certain nights of the week), and several outdoor recreational options - fishing, tennis/pickleball, trails, and shooting range. The day spa is a stretch at best; it is a very small space adjacent to the pool (accessible to all guests). There is no privacy, so anyone speaking, even if in a low voice can be heard. there isn't much ambiance. The locker rooms are a bathroom, with some lockers and 2 showers. One of the robes in the locker had a huge stain on it that looked like blood, and the relaxation room, was a room with low lighting, some tea, water, furniture, and mellow music; with background conversations in the adjoining offices and check-in space. I don't know how the facial, hair, or nail services were, but I will say the massage that my husband and I got was very good. So the most essential element - the service - was what you would expect; unfortunately, everything else detracted significantly from the experience. The restaurant, which is the only restaurant on the property, was the weakest link in the experience!! The absurdity of the wait time and more importantly, the food quality, was hard to believe - we had experiences that resembled a sitcom. Note: there were some very pleasant wait staff who tried their best to accommodate the blunders of the kitchen staff and wait time, but the food was just bad! I wish I had taken a picture of the most egregious orders filled. The eggs benedict was a soft-boiled egg on an untoasted English muffin with just a step above lunchmeat ham that only remotely tasted like ham and a weak hollandaise sauce - not sure if real egg was even in it. It also lacked flavor. The charcuterie board was a joke. The description is: "Chef's choice of local meats and cheeses with accouterments" -apparently, local is short for the local "food lion" - semi-toasted sourdough bread, Pepperidge Farm crackers, bulk cut mini-cubed cheese (cheddar, Monterey, and mystery), deli sliced pepperoni and salami, with some accompanying fruit. I know this sounds very critical, but both my husband and I were just shocked. This review is longer than it should be, but hoping it will inform others so that they can plan
