Greenhills Hotel Limerick

We've just held our wedding at the Greenhills Hotel and we are absolutely delighted with the high level of care, service and attention that we've experienced. From our initial booking with the general manager Daphne Greene 2 years ago, and the number of planning visits that we've had with the lovely events manager Natasha Grew, we were always made to feel welcome, and no question or request was a hassle for them, absolutely top people to deal with. Everything from the decoration of the reception rooms, to the tasty food and excellent attentive staff was amazing. Myself and the woman I'm now happy to call my wife have no hesitation in recommending the Greenhills Hotel, and their amazing management and staff to look after you for your big day, or even just a stay or a bite to eat. Massive thank you to all of you for making our day very special xxxx.

Abbiamo dormito una notte in questo carino Hotel della città. Posizione molto buona,a pochi passi dal centro. Parcheggio sotterraneo direttamente in struttura, ottimo! Struttura moderna e ben pulita, personale gentile. La nostra camera al quarto piano vista fiume era grandissima! All'interno dell'hotel è possibile cenare presso il ristorante che si trova al primo piano. Consigliato se fate tappa a Limerick.

We have a lovely 3 nights stay in Castletroy. The room was gorgeous and loved that the bottles of water were nice a cold in the fridge a great idea. Beds lovely and comfy, a roasting hot shower. We had dinner the 3 nights in the bar it was gorgeous but the sea bass was exceptional and highly recommend it to anyone staying there. Breakfast was only ok it was a buffet style which is fine but would of liked if they had done an omelette. We had breakfast included in our package but we only had it 2 mornings. Staff here are fantastic all lovely and friendly but barman Andrew was fantastic so helpful, nothing was a problem, chatted to everyone. I had a cocktail on the second night and he asked was it ok and had I like it which it was fab. I told him they would have to get in Dingle Gin as its my fav and he said they had it but when I had asked another staff member the evening before I was told they didn't have it but Andrew said they did and would have it the nxt evening for me. Which in fairness when we went for dinner the nxt evening Andrew seated us and said he had got the dingle gin I wanted one that night. He is a credit to the hotel and should get a pay rise. Besides the breakfast we will definitely stay here again.
Limerick Strand Hotel

Stayed in Limerick Strand hotel last night. A very disappointing stay. Firstly there were some hair clips left in the bathroom - I presume from the previous guest. I'm not sure was the bathroom fully cleaned - it looked grubby, as if cleaned quickly. Next issue was with the restaurant/room service. My husband was feeling sick during our stay and he didn't want to go to the bar restaurant to eat. So I went there with my 8 year old daughter & tried to order something for him & bring it back to the bedroom ( we were both eating in the restaurant btw). The restaurant menu was very limited, it had maybe 6 or 8 main courses. Curry, burger etc. None were suitable for him. I asked the waitress could I get a chicken wrap or a toasted sandwich to bring upstairs. No this could not be done because these dishes were on the room service menu & on a different ”system” to the restaurant. Although she did confirm that both were from the same kitchen. I ordered the burger for myself. It arrived on a stone cold burger bun, and the bottom piece of the burger bun was soaked & soggy. I took one bite, but couldn't eat it. I asked for a new bun & my plate was taken , and then returned with a fresh bun. Although with the same burger inside ( with one bite taken). Seemed weird to me, as most hotel restaurants would replace with a freshly cooked dish. So, we went to bed around 11pm. My husband as I said was sick & spent most of the evening in bed. At 12.15 the fire alarm went off in our room. You can imagine the fright we got from this sudden loud siren noise going off when we had been asleep for an hour. It was horrendous. I rang reception. Firstly the girl asked had we been smoking in the room/bathroom. I firmly told her we had not. Herself & another staff member came up to our room. They didn't seem to have a clue what caused the alarm to go off, they suggested that we had a big bath & that the steam from the bath had set off the alarm. Anyhow after 15 minutes they managed to turn the alarm off. My 8 year old kept waking terrified all throughout the night. It was a horrible sleepless night for all of us. Next morning I asked to speak with a manager to explain my disappointment at the alarm going off only in our room & disturbing out sleep for the night. I spoke with an arrogant staff member called Darragh. He said that somebody smoking in the toilets near the bar had set off the panel of the alarm. He had no explanation as to why it was in my room only. I had checked in the corridor & the alarm was definitely not going off in other rooms. He said he felt that a 15 minute ”inconvenience” was fine & he was glad that the alarm went off ” as that is what they're meant to do”. He condescending asked me ” would you prefer if the alarms were not working & there was a fire in the hotel”. I said I would have preferred if I wasn't woken after midnight & I had been able to get a good night's rest , which is what I would have wanted after pay

Peraltro molto ben decorato. Esperienza consigliabile e decisamente da ripetere.

The room at the hotel was quite nice and the location was okay. The parking lot was just behind the hotel - very convenient. We asked for a room facing the river and the check in staff said we were in luck. The room had a queen bed, comfortable and clean. For a big fellow the shower/tub was a bit confined but the water was hot. Facing the river ensured it was quiet. Breakfast was included and it was your standard fare but the wait staff could be a bit more pleasant!!!
