Coloft Lille Lesquin

Great find for a short overnight stay on our way to the tunnel. After finally working out the instructions for entry to this rather large complex, we were greeted by a super young man, who made us feel very welcome and recommended a nearby restaurant, as the one onsite is closed weekends. Room was clean, well decorated and comfortable, with the added bonus of a balcony.

We booked an apartment as we were staying with our 3 cats, it was 2 lovely huge spaces, with great views for cat staring. Nice helpful staff, and great atmosphere/public spaces. Look at photo of the reception before you arrive as it’s not very obvious, nor well lit and for satnav make sure it’s Lesquin as there are two streets with the same name near Lille. Food from restaurant not good, though instant as it had been cooked, then reheated. But altogether lovely place to stay.

I was there for the European Doula Network conference, stayed for 3 nights and had a wonderful experience. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, with everything you need to feel welcome and at home. The shared spaces are tastefully decorated, breakfast and other meals were of very good quality and it was overall a pleasure to work / meet at COLOFT - Lille.

When we arrived around 12:30 we could not find any indication where the reception was. And there are More than 10 buildings that look alike. The whole area was deserted, nobody to ask. We called and after half an hour we got in. Very unfriendly student gave us Keys.

Rather disappointed with my one night here. Be warned if you arrive late it is very difficult to know where to go! I arrived at 9.05 pm on a Sunday evening for a one night stay. At first I wasn’t sure where the hotel/entrance to the hotel even was. Then a man outside pointed me to a gate leading to a car park and said it was the hotel. I walked around the car park and buildings for 45 minutes before I could get in. Not even joking! There is no signage anywhere for the reception. There are many doors - all locked, all need opening with a room key. No staff to be seen. Tried ringing the number on the website but wouldn’t connect. Messaged the ‘chat’ option repeatedly but no answer came. Saw what looked like a reception desk but no one was there and again, the door locked. Eventually on my third time round to the bit that looked most likely to be the reception I spotted someone behind the desk! Waved my arms until I got her attention and she came and opened the door, asking why I didn’t have my key to open it. Because I’ve just arrived and don’t have a key yet! On the plus side the room was nice and clean and quiet, the bed was comfortable and the shower good. Was looking forward to the breakfast that I’d prepaid. Unfortunately discovered at 9.50 that breakfast was only served until 9.30 on a weekday. I’ve never experienced a hotel finish breakfast so early and I had no idea when I paid for it. So it was a bad arrival and a bad departure sadly.

Great hotel. If you look for a good new hotel with free parking outside the city centre this a good place. We stayed at the Coloft during the Olympics. The Coloft is close to the stadium. We used Lime bikes to get to stadium. To go to the city we used the car. The hotelmis close to the high way so if you are looking for a good stay close to the high way this is also an excellent place. Is everything ok, no. The breakfast is limited and can definitely be better.
