Lotus Blu Hotel

Lotus Blu is close to several Malls and a good central location. The hotel is nice and clean. We had a Queen room which was good, a nice shower, but very small towels. Breakfast was ok, a reasonable choice based around Filipino food, however the hot food was often cold. Great Chef who will make you an omelette. We checked in very late and ended up having the room opposite the lifts and Housekeeping, so a bit of noise. Overall a good experience for the price.

The service provided by the staff was very good. They were all respectful to the guests. The food in the included breakfast buffet was great. The food variety was excellent but it didn’t have any fruit juice available. Otherwise the Lotus Blue cafe also had great food at a very reasonable price. The location was very close to the main downtown area and walking distance to clean malls with plenty of food and restaurant options. The area is also very safe and friendly. Unfortunately, we had a bad experience with the room. The hot water heater inside the room was not working. We immediately reported that to the front desk. They sent a maintenance mechanic to fix it but same issue every time we tried to use the shower. They promised to replace the heater while we were away on our tour, but when we came back the hot water heater was still not working. The water from the shower would first come out very hot and difficult to adjust. Then after that the water came out very cold. I reported the same issue to the front desk but no results. Thank goodness we were only stuck for two days.

The good: Close to malls/ATMs. Can view Mayon Volcano. Free airport servicing. Staff are generally nice. Breakfast buffet is good. Wifi is ok. Room is clean. Hot water is not hard to control. Air conditioning is quite strong. Food and water served are clean. Multiple conference rooms. Prepared to handle concerns about official receipt and other documents you need. The bad: ＞Lazy responses to reservation matters via emails, phone call and messaging. ＞Credit card terminal can malfunction. Prepare cash. There’s only one terminal for front desk and restaurant. ＞View of Mayon is a bit obstructed by poles, trees and wires in the cafe or can only be seen from the side of the room. ＞There were 2 instances when staff tried to open my door with their keys without knocking or using the doorbell, even if I was inside. So your privacy and security is probably not much of a priority here. I didn’t allow room cleaning until I left because of this. ＞Breakfast buffet food have no labels. Waiters don’t know for sure as well about the food being served if you ask them. I was also once served pork soup with an oversized soup ladle from their kitchen. ＞Staff/waiter service, is quite laid back. They’re nice but they probably need more training. But what do I know.. ＞Need to relogin to wifi multiple times. ＞No free daily cotton tips for your ears. Come prepared. ＞No phone in the room upon arrival. Had to call through my cellphone to contact front desk. ＞Oddly placed electrical outlets in the room. ＞The strong smell of cigarette smoke blows through the air conditioning in the late afternoons, in the non-smoking 3rd floor. ＞The day before I left, front desk spammed me with calls with offers to transfer to another room due to aircon problems. Kept on insisting even when I said no since I didn’t experience the problem and I was going to check out anyway the next morning. So I just put the phone on silent. ＞Rooms are right beside the road. So if you’re a light sleeper, the jeepneys, tricycles and other vehicles, not to mention passing people, can be noisy at night. Overall, if you need a relatively clean, affordable place to stay in and you’re not expecting top customer service, privacy and security- this hotel is ok. However, from what i heard, there are other alternative hotels in the city that may be better managed and offers better value for your money.

We booked this hotel in time for my husband's birthday vacay. Their location was so nice as its at the city center. Room accommodation & service was great as well, friendly & responsive staffs too! Room amenities were complete l - fresh & clean linens, bath towels/robes & toiletries. We likewise availed of their breakfast & it was good. We'd love to go back to Legazpi again & stay at this place.👍💕
