Abaca Boutique Resort

I used to love this hotel. It was always great, and I would stay here again in a heartbeat. But now… it's not what it used to be. The staff is rude, and the rooms are smaller than they used to be. The lobby is dark and depressing, and there's nowhere to sit except for the chairs by the door (which don't recline). The food has gotten really expensive, too—it used to be much cheaper than other hotels in area with similar amenities.

I booked a room at this hotel on the phone and proceeded to make payment through their website. I was told that it would take about an hour for my credit card to be processed, but when I checked back after an hour, there was no record of my request. After another hour had passed (and nothing had been processed), I called them again, and was told that they couldn't find my reservation. After another hour of waiting, I finally got through to someone who could tell me what went wrong: they had entered both my credit card information and my reservation into their system incorrectly. The hotel staff is not trained in customer service or computer programming.

I've been to this resort twice, and it is the worst place I have ever stayed in my life. The rooms are dirty, the staff is rude, and they don't give you any help when you need it. The beds are uncomfortable and there are no blankets available by request. The food is terrible as well - there's not enough of it at breakfast or dinner, and it's often cold. You can always expect to be charged for extra drinks if you want another one—even if all you ordered was 1 glass of wine! The pool area is so small that people are forced to stand up in the water while swimming because there's nowhere else for them to sit or swim comfortably! This place is a joke - do NOT stay here!

"The rooms seemed to be ok, I regret requesting an extra bed because it was so bad though the butler had exerted much effort that the bed will be comfortable". The bed was so hard, Sorry Abaca, you need to make some changes...

Seriously exceptional hotel with service that rewrites the rules. It was my first time visiting Cebu, and it was our 2nd night in the province. I held such high expectation from their previous rewards and all the amazing reviews, and they certainly did not disappoint. From check-in to drop off to the airport, I was totally spoiled. They use the best ingredients they can reach throughout their F&B service. Lovely quiet poolside with cabanas. Excellent food at the restaurant. Amazing breakfast. It is very private, and their customer service is far better than the commercialized five-star hotels elsewhere. HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ANYONE AND WOULD DEFINITELY COME BACK! A VERY DELIGHTFUL STAY!!
