Hotel vicino a Museo Sri Dalada, Kandy

Molto bel hotel, non lontano dal centro della città di Kandy. In realtà, siamo andati in città un giorno lungo la strada 2-linea. La piscina è molto bello, c'è una sala di pesata per lavorare e un spa se vuoi un massaggio. Il suo ambiente è molto tranquillo, ha una bella vista sulla natura e un bel bar con alcuni cocktail di qualità.Se vai a Kandy e non ti dispiace stare un po' fuori dalla città, questo è un posto davvero buono. Io posterò più foto, ma il sito limita la dimensione e il suo sforzo molto per ridurre una foto solo posta qui.

I would like to report an incident that happened in the restaurant. A large and arrogant staff member refused to let me sit at a larger table, saying it was reserved for four people. After our conversation, he deliberately placed a “Reserved” sign on the table. Since no guests arrived, I later asked him again and he said the four guests would come at 21:30. However, the restaurant closes at 22:00, so this explanation did not make sense. In fact, no guests ever arrived. When I asked other staff members for his name, they told me it was Sammy. I was very disappointed by this dishonest behavior. The front desk staff at this hotel are excellent, so it is unfortunate that this experience in the restaurant left such a negative impression. I visited this hotel as part of a preliminary inspection for a group tour. However, since there is a staff member who would casually lie to guests, I cannot guide my group to a hotel with such dishonest service. Therefore, I have decided not to include this hotel in our tour plans.

I absolutely loved this hotel! The location was great, and the views were nice. I only wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy more of the peaceful atmosphere. My room was cozy and relaxing, and I especially loved the bathtub which was perfect for unwinding after a long day. The infinity pool was another highlight with gorgeous ocean views, though it was a bit on the cool side. I do wish it had been heated, but it was still a beautiful spot to relax. Room service was great too! Good selection and reasonably priced for a hotel. Cons: On my last day, I treated myself to a 90-minute aromatherapy massage at the spa. Unfortunately, I’d rate the spa a 5/10. Living in Thailand has definitely spoiled me with incredible massages, so I admit my standards are high! Still, I think the spa could use a bit of a refresh. The rooms smelled a bit old and weren’t very visually appealing. It was also quite cold during the body scrub and massage, which made it hard to fully relax. Breakfast was okay, but I wish there were more Western-style options available. Overall, I’d definitely stay here again. Everything about the hotel itself was lovely, I’d just skip the spa next time!

The Good The standout feature of The Coffee Bungalow is undoubtedly its staff, particularly Adrian, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Everyone we encountered was attentive and genuinely warm, making us feel well cared for. The food was another highlight—delicious and thoughtfully prepared. A particularly nice touch was when they packed us a complimentary to-go lunch for our train journey out of Kandy, which was a pleasant and unexpected gesture. The Bad The lack of air conditioning was a notable downside, especially given Kandy’s humidity. While the property has a charming colonial feel, the absence of a solid door between the bedroom and bathroom was an odd design choice. Although the toilet and shower do have louvered doors, privacy is somewhat compromised. Another issue was the challenging entry system—we found ourselves locked out one night, which was frustrating and inconvenient. The Ugly Unfortunately, the biggest drawback was the ant problem. While some level of bugs is to be expected in a tropical setting, the sheer number of ants, particularly in the bathroom but also in the bedroom, was hard to ignore. It definitely impacted our overall comfort. Overall, The Coffee Bungalow has a lot of charm and some truly wonderful hospitality, but there are a few quirks and inconveniences that might not suit every traveler. If you’re prepared for a bit of rustic charm and can handle the lack of AC and privacy, the warm service and great food may make up for the downsides.

L'hotel è bellissimo, la camera è molto spaziosa e si può usufruire del servizio in camera. I prezzi sono simili a quelli di un bar turistico e le porzioni sono molto abbondanti. C'è una splendida vista sul lago e sul verde circostante. C'è l'aria condizionata, un asciugacapelli e tutto il necessario. Il personale è molto cordiale.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful location and I must say, it was a nice place with outstanding scenery. If you enjoy a mountainous vibe, this is definitely one of the best spots to visit. The food was quite good, and the garden was absolutely beautiful. I especially appreciated Mr. Yoga, who guided us through the gardens and provided excellent support. One thing to keep in mind is that there are no elevators (only stairs). We stayed on the third floor and while the view was lovely, we did encounter some mosquitoes inside the room.

A Hidden Gem – Perfect Honeymoon or Quiet Getaway This place is truly a hidden gem. It was the perfect spot for a honeymoon couple or anyone looking for a peaceful, quiet getaway. Travel tip: From Colombo, you can catch a direct bus to Nuwalapitiya. We didn’t know this and went via Kandy, which made the journey longer than necessary. If we had known, we would have taken the direct bus—it’s much easier. Ps:The bus ride is phenomenal—very beautiful views along the way and very cheap. The property is located on a hill and is naturally beautiful, surrounded by trees and birds whose songs make the atmosphere even more serene. It does get a bit cold at night, but it was the perfect kind of chilly—cozy and refreshing. Our room had an amazing view, making it even more special. The stay itself was perfect for our honeymoon: very cozy, comfortable, and clean. The staff were amazing, especially one gentleman at the restaurant (I didn’t catch his name, but I want to mention him). He went above and beyond to help us and was incredibly sweet and warm-hearted—it really made our stay special. A small note: we noticed the pool looked a bit dirty, which some other reviews also mentioned. However, it was clarified in the pool area that they use natural spring water without chemicals, so this is expected and actually a great eco-friendly approach. But This hotel needs some love because this is a very nice place. Another small note: there were some insects, like cockroaches, but that’s expected when staying on a hill in the middle of nature surrounded by trees. Overall, this was a truly wonderful experience and a perfect spot to relax, unwind, and enjoy nature. Highly recommended!!

Tra i più: acqua calda, talvolta bollita, acqua bollente e asciugamani, letti puliti, specchi, superfici lavorate. Nel resto, l'impressione che è arrivata all'hotel al momento del movimento.

I proprietari e i dipendenti di questo hotel sono così, così bello. Purtroppo il loro hotel non è. Mi sento quasi catturato, come molte delle foto hanno sottolineato l'atmosfera del bar e della piscina. Non è stato il caso - la piscina era una dimensione decente ma nell'ombra e non ho visto nessuno in essa. Le colpi di balneazione che ho molto sospettato non sono forse una vera fonte. Lo stesso vale per il bar, che è enorme e a cui partecipano molti giovani e noiosi gentiluomini, quando entrambi ho fatto il salto (una volta per cena) ero l'unico patrono. Ancora nessuna atmosfera di festa o persino persone - che è vergognoso come è un grande luogo. Fortunatamente, la porta accanto era un altro luogo per alcuni cocktail e musica decente che salvavano un po' la stanchezza. La camera da letto era una dimensione decente con un piccolo frigo (ma non ha funzionato), la camera da letto era piccola, si sentiva sporca, senza sapone a mano o sapone per la doccia (a parte gli occupanti precedenti - e questo era grosso). La pressione era scarsa, rendendo difficile la doccia e c'era un panno sul pavimento da qualche danno - non pulito. Il letto era enorme e confortevole con aria condizionata e un fan dormiva bene. Infine, e ripeto, il personale era bellissimo. Molto ospite e la posizione è a circa dieci minuti a piedi dal Sacro Tesoro e il Lago Kandy. Così grande posizione. Vorrei restare ancora lì - no. Vorrei salutare i proprietari e la porta accanto per un cocktail - forse!
