Siamo arrivati la mattina presto il giorno di Capodanno *****. Il personale della reception, il signor Li, è stato molto gentile e disponibile. The hotel is very well located, close to subway and bus stations that can keep you everywhere in Taipei, and also lots of food options around.
The staff is friendly and helpful.
The room is clean and comfortable, well equipped, but, unfortunately, it has no window, which for me sometimes cause discomfort. (In fact the room has window ,but it faces a wall, and no light came from outside).
I asked for another room, and they offered me another one charging some extra money, This room was a little bigger, but again with windows facing a wall, so I didn't take it.
At the day of departure I asked for a 1 hour late check-out until1 pm, they initially said that would have an additional cost, I insisted for no charging, then they agreed with no cost.

Quindi è super difficile fare la crema nel bagno!!E che articoli non forniscono il dentifricio in questo hotel. Ma la posizione è buona. Ci sono 7-11 con la famiglia mart sotto, e 24 ore di casa di Lefour. Il negozio di fuoco sul lato opposto e il negozio di colazione sotto il mattino, quindi il pranzo e la notte sono anche molto convenienti.L'intero collegamento è molto vicino, la stazione Xiao Zhongshan non è lontana.

Un vecchio hotel a cinque stelle, le strutture sono un po' datate ma ben mantenute. Le condizioni igieniche sono eccellenti. I bagni hanno copriwater intelligenti. Molti turisti giapponesi soggiornano qui e ci sono diversi ristoranti giapponesi al piano B1. Si accede direttamente al piano B1 dell'hotel tramite il passaggio sotterraneo M6 della stazione ferroviaria di Taipei.

UUtente ospite1. Misleading Entrance Signage
Upon arrival, we followed the signage pasted on a pillar that directed guests to a staircase entrance. However, when we reached that entrance, we were shocked to find the door marked with the sign “来宾止步” (“Guests Stop Here”). When we raised this with your staff, we were told that this entrance has not been in use since the COVID-19 period. While we understand that certain operations may have changed during the pandemic, COVID-19 restrictions have ended for more than two years. If the primary entrance has been permanently closed, why has no corrective action been taken and the misleading signage still left there? Carrying heavy luggage up and down a sloped path unnecessarily was frustrating and avoidable.
2. No Staff Assistance or Clear Signage at the New Entrance
When we finally located the new entrance, there were no staff members on standby to assist us, nor was there any clear external signage indicating that this was the correct way to access the lobby. The explanation given later was that all staff were away assisting with parking which is not acceptable. At least one person should have been assigned to remain at the entrance, or the last person leaving should have arranged for another colleague to cover the position. In addition, the Operations Director mentioned that there is signage inside the new entrance directing guests to take the elevator to the lobby. However, this logic is flawed. If guests cannot locate the correct entrance in the first place, how could they possibly see a sign placed inside?
3. Poorly Trained and Unprofessional Front Desk Behavior
After struggling outside, we called the number listed on Google. Only then did someone finally come out and lead us in. By that time, we were exhausted and upset. When we confronted the front desk staff about why they ignored us, despite us clearly visible outside the “来宾止步” glass door, making eye contact and knocking for help, but they claimed they “did not see us.” This excuse was clearly untrue, as we observed them looking in our direction. Even more disappointing, none of the front desk staff offered an apology even until we requested to speak to the Operations Director and asked him to review the CCTV footage. After reviewing the footage, the Operations Director confirmed that the front desk had not been alert and apologized on their behalf. However, he did not acknowledge that the front desk’s attitude and lack of sincerity were also serious problems. Being “not alert enough” and showing no sense of apology or empathy are two entirely different issues.
As an international hotel, the front desk is the first impression of your service. Regardless of the quality of your facilities, this poor experience completely overshadowed the positive aspects of our stay. It also severely damages the reputation of Kagaya Group — a brand that has long been admired for its exemplary Japanese hospitality and politeness. Although we appreciate the Operations Director’s effort to make amends by offering us a meal and gifts (which we declined), it remains undeniable that this incident reflects a failure in staff training and management oversight.
We hope that management will seriously review this incident, especially the issues of:
- Inadequate and misleading signage at the entrance
- Lack of staff presence and assistance upon guest arrival
- Poor front desk awareness and unprofessional behavior
We trust that Kagaya Group will uphold its proud tradition of service by addressing these problems promptly and ensuring no other guests experience such treatment in the future.

YyytripiIl personale è cordiale e la colazione è flessibile, quindi è perfetto per un viaggio rilassante in solitaria. Si trova a 30 secondi a piedi dalla stazione, quindi è in una posizione comoda, sicuro e perfetto per una viaggiatrice da sola. Le docce sono calde e c'è un asciugacapelli, quindi i servizi sono perfetti. Ci sono anche armadietti con lucchetto, quindi mi piacerebbe sicuramente usarlo di nuovo la prossima volta!

JjikookHo soggiornato lì per 6 giorni e 5 notti in una camera tutta al femminile! Adoro quanto siano grandi i loro seminterrati, dove si può mangiare e lavorare in tutta tranquillità. Inoltre, non è così lontano da Ximending, ci vogliono circa 3 minuti a piedi! E c'è anche una stazione vicina, collegata alla stazione di Ximending. Se dovessi tornare a Taiwan, sceglierei sicuramente di nuovo questo hotel. Sicuro per le viaggiatrici sole ❤️ L'ho già consigliato alle mie amiche. Con affetto da PH 🇵🇭

I had a great stay at Hotel PaPa Whale! The hotel's style is really unique and quirky, which makes it stand out from your typical business hotels. The location is absolutely fantastic. It’s just a short 7-minute walk to Ximen Station, making it super convenient to get around the city, and being right on the edge of Ximending means you're in the middle of all the action, shopping, and nightlife.
Location: You really can't beat it for exploring Taipei. The Ximending pedestrian area is literally a few minutes' walk away, so you're surrounded by endless food options. Whether you're looking for a late-night snack, trendy cafes, or authentic ********* street food, you'll find it all right on your doorstep. The proximity to the MRT station is a huge plus for day trips too.
Room & Atmosphere: The room was a decent size, especially for Taipei, and we had plenty of space for our luggage. The vibe is modern and playful. The most... memorable feature was definitely the large mirror on the ceiling above the bed. It certainly adds a fun, slightly ”kinky” twist to the room's atmosphere! It’s a bold design choice that fits the hotel's overall playful and unconventional personality.
Bathroom: One of the highlights was the bathroom. It was impressively large, very clean, and well-appointed, with good water pressure in the shower. It felt more like a boutique hotel bathroom than a standard city hotel one.
Overall: Hotel PaPa Whale is a solid 4-star experience. It combines a prime location, a clean and comfortable room with a fun twist, and a great bathroom. If you're looking for a memorable stay right in the heart of Taipei's most vibrant district, this is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended for couples or anyone looking for something a little different.

UUtente anonimoIt is a good location. Very easy to go everywhere in Taiwan because very near to Taipei main station. The room is standard but late check in (16:00) and early checkout 11:00. The cleaning schedule of the room is 3 days each time. For me it is acceptable. I love laundry service with washing and drying machine but you have to prepare 10 NTD coin 30 for wash and 20 min for 10 dollar normally spend 40 for drying . My room has no window but no problem because we travel more than stay.
