The Chesapeake Inn

We loved everything about our stay at The Chesapeake Inn. Our room was clean and comfy and the staff were so friendly. We loved the available surrey, bikes, and kayaks that allowed us to fully explore Urbanna and nature. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!

In a word "MAGNIFIQUE" Located off the main street in historical Urbanna you will find a gem of a retreat, an ocean-blue and white sanctuary. The courtyard is a delightful first impression with a grassy gathering area including tables, chairs, umbrellas and lawn games. Amenities include bikes and surrey carriages at no expense to explore the town. Kayaks are provided for the more adventuresome with an aquatic bent. Entering the lobby we are greeted by Rachel, a lovely young lady with a radiant smile, who has a most welcoming manner. Made us feel right at home. The Coastal Decor is chic and amazingly beautiful. There are many private areas for visiting, musing, or reading some of the large selection of fascinating books which adorn the area and help create an ambiance of style and comfort along with the complementary coffee. Did you know there are over 200 species of oysters? Be sure to visit the delightful Avery at the "Ballgown Barefoot Boutique" as a special treat before departure. There you will find a wonderful selection of gifts to remind you of your stay. Don't forget the delicious chocolate chip cookies for the trip home. Your quiet room is located across the courtyard. The rooms are anything but cookie cutter, each having an independent theme. It is obvious that Gari and Matt have an eye for beauty and a passion for detail. their love for their creation radiates throughout. You can feel their heart, soul and pride at every turn. The "Welcome Letter" was a thoughtful touch. Our suite was six star. Spotless, beautifully decorated, and impeccable in every way. The mini kitchenette furnished with snacks gave us a feeling of home. The glow from the dazzling chandelier catches your eye and provides warmth throughout. The toiletries were first class, Gilchrist and Soames. The bathrobes were sumptuous, the towels, large and fluffy. Our bedroom was the definition of "serenity." The quality soft linens and bed covering made slumber as if one were on a cloud. the pillows were perfect. Our stay was too short. What a great find in Urbanna. The Chesapeake Inn is in the heart of Urbanna, within walking distance to everything. The reception area is gorgeous and welcoming and the rooms are beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. It is an excellent location for a weekend getaway. We will definitely visit again.

I’m a very picky traveler especially when it comes to sanitized rooms during this time of covid. The Inn has such great measures in place to ensure guests feel safe. Things from an air sanitizer in each room to no daily room service so as to not come into your space. Thank you for easing my worries, I will definitely be back!

I met several friends at The Chesapeake Inn for a girls weekend. We loved every minute of our stay. To call this a motel is such an understatement. This is a boutique inn. The location is so serene and peaceful. The decor in the rooms is eclectic yet homey and comfortable at the same time. Each room is decorated differently and brings its own charm and character. Gari, the owner, is so pleasant and welcoming. Hand written welcome notes provide a personal touch not found in chain locations. The green space boasts tables and chairs to relax with a book, as well as outdoor games if you happen to be with a group or as a family. Surrey bikes, pedal bikes, and kayaks available at the marina provide low key activities. The shops and restaurants are easily walkable. A fun mix of both are available. I will certainly be back. The service is far better than I’ve experienced in other stats at “name brand” chains. My friends and I were so happy with everything.

Attended my 50th high school reunion in the area. Did not figure a highlight would be where we stayed! Comfortable inn, chocked full of amenities, friendly service from Gari the owner and close to shops and restaurants. A must stay while in Urbanna.
