Blue Moon Guest House

Once in a Blue Moon would we stay here again. Thumping of the bands into the wee hours of the morning. Side-by-side refrigerator/freezer not functioning. (Freezer frozen up and not addressed, which is quite telling on the owner’s idea of overall upkeep.) Housekeeper very distant and not receptive of proffered gratuity. Strange. Great for twenty somethings, maybe. At one time, it maybe: “used to be cool”.

Blue moon is so cozy. We love the fact that there is a venue and bar in house. The stay is always great!! The bartender Friday night was fantastic, helpful and mad a fantastic Bloody Mary!! The only small complaint I have is that check in time is 5 which is kinda late, you would think they would have the ac on. It was kinda hot in the room and took quite a bit to cool off.

The house was just the right size for our family. Very cute and had everything we needed. Also walking distance to the Rock n Bowl and all sorts of other cool stuff downtown. Would definitely come again. Theres a big back yard. The price seemed very reasonable too.

The house was clean and the instructions were good to get in and for the room. The mattress needs to be replaced in the Galorie room and there was a loud clanking noise outside the window with the wind blowing.

When I arrived, The house was closed. I saw only a barman who help me to do thé Check in.It was very noisy and dirty. Thé bar is near thé bed room. The only good thing were thé music. À jazz band played very good music in thé bar.

Close to downtown and the Cajundome it was an Awesome old house with a bar right in the back yard, really fun experience. The house was clean and the bed was comfortable will Definitely stay here again.

I booked The Birds Nest room in 2022 for my cousin’s band, and had to book it again when I saw another friend playing for Festival International. It’s like my own private bedroom with the comfiest bed! I would recommend curtains, or replacing the few slats in the blinds in the windows though. And a small fridge would be awesome in the room. I did request for the window unit to be on before my arrival the second time, and the room was the perfect temp. And like the first time I booked, everything was neat and clean. I will be booking again in the future, but I made that decision after my first stay, obviously. Keep doing what y’all are doing. Always love Blue Moon! For shows and a place to stay!

Great place to relax and enjoy yourself. Good music, (Saturday night). Our room was the Balcony. Very nice and yes, with a balcony. The room is spacious and the bed is comfortable. The common areas downstairs are really enjoyable and have a warm ambience. Downtown is literally across the street. And really just across the street is Bordens ice cream. Banana splits, sundaes and more just like they were 45 years ago. We will return.

Found this place when looking up live music in Lafayette. What a gem. Met Michelle when we arrived as she was putting final touches on the place. Michelle gave us the run down and was great. The guest house is hostel style and generally is set-up for contactless with door codes texted upon arrival. We stayed in the balcony room which has the only balcony and a private bathroom with twin showers, which was a first for us. Room was very spacious and the balcony was a great place to relax, have a drink or coffee in the morning. Guest house is hostel style with communal kitchen, living room and bathroom’s downstairs. A wonderful place to stay. The saloon was fantastic. On Tuesday night there was open mic night and Wednesday was a Cajun jam session. A local on Wednesday made rice with a beef and potato stew that was off the hook. Sadly that person was not around so I was I unable to get the recipe. I’d had dinner prior but that stew was too good to pass up. Saloon was filled with a mixed crowd of all ages (I’m 57). Dance floor was lively and the 12 or so musicians played for hours without a break. Bar is fully stocked but leave your fancy drink requests at the end of the street. Great place to socialize and meet new people. If we ever make it back to these parts we’re staying here.
