Country Sunshine Bed and Breakfast

A great B&B. The owners were the most wonderful folks. Our room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast and snacks were excellent. We had an entertaining evening visiting with the other guests. The location is a good distance outside of town so we had a quiet place to enjoy sitting on the deck for some nice conversation. Our schedule required us to depart earlier than the regular breakfast time, however we were provided with an early breakfast plus a nice bag of goodies to take with us for the day. Sadly, we were only able to stay for one night. I would have been happy there for a week.

We stayed at Country Sunshine B&B for 3 nights (l wish we could have stayed longer) and it was above and beyond relaxing and fun. Jody and Walter are so friendly and their friend Norma all are so nice! We had much fun sitting together with some of the other guests in the evenings and chat and learn from each other’s stories. Room, bed and bathroom so clean and comfortable. Breakfast was brief and delightful. Walter even had gluten-free bagels for my wife every morning. We will definitely recommend this place to all of our friends.

We stayed here for two nights during our road trip. It’s hard to put into words how lovely this place is, Walter and his wife are so accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. Unfortunately we didn’t get to sit down for breakfast due to trips we had booked as they were early starts but Walter ensured we had a few muffins and fruit to eat on our way. The room was perfect, if you are looking for a perfect stay when you are in Durango, look no further than here.

What a fabulous Bed and Breakfast! My husband and I spent 4 glorious nights here. Clean, warm, comfortable , centrally located, and owners, Walter and Jody couldn't have been any more hospitable! We had a wonderful time snd will definitely return!

Visiting with a large family group from Texas, we have stayed at Country Sunshine several times and we love it. You will not find warmer hosts than Walter and Jodie. My favorite features are the cozy rooms, better-than-your-typical continental breakfast, amazing hot tub, upper-level deck with views of mountains and wildlife, huge fireplace, and the nearby river. The location is also perfect, about halfway between downtown Durango and Purgatory Ski Resort. My family and I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in the area.

We stayed one night at Country Sunshine Bed and Breakfast, but wish we would have stayed longer. Walter and Jodi are welcoming and helpful. Our room was spotless and enjoyed waking to deer grazing outside our window. We enjoyed sitting on the deck overlooking the mountains. I would definitely stay here again!

You are away from the crowds at this B & B. This was our first stay here and since they have been open a number of years, you may find the owners hosting what have become long time friends. The breakfast has been reduced to more of a continental breakfast so don't expect eggs and bacon. Our room was comfortable and we enjoyed visiting with other guests on the deck while watching the humming birds.

Country Sunshine is a B&B that I've visited several times, and I will likely continue to visit as long as Walter and Jodi are the proprietors. They are so welcoming, friendly and kind-hearted that they are the draw as much as the fine accommodations and excellent location, about 15 minutes from downtown Durango. The place is alwasy clean and neat, the grounds well tended, and the always-available cookies are SO tasty! While they have modified their business model slightly, eliminating the full breakfast and evening dessert which were always delicious and pleasantly presented, they still provide a variety of tasty treats in their continental breakfast. And always the cookies.

We had the best time it was such a nice house. We stayed in the Sunshine room and it was very clean and we had our own bathroom. Oh, and the spread they had for breakfast was amazing. Wish we could have stayed for longer but we will definitely be back.
