Great airport hotel. Awesome rooms, beautifully designed and have everything that you need and more ! I appreciate the free airport shuttle which operates every half an hour from 4am to 2pm. You do need to let the front desk know you need this service in advanced as seats on the car is limited. This service is very handy especially when I have elderly parents travelling with me. Great shout out to the driver who was very helpful with the luggage and he was friendly and polite. Reception had prepared packed breakfast for us which was very thoughtful, eggs, bread and milk, however our milk were all confiscated at the airport custom as we forgot we could not bring liquid across. This is something for guests to take note of and maybe the hotel can help remind guests about this. I have to highlight a few quirks of this place though that can hopefully improve the experience. There is a steep flight of stairs between the main road and the hotel building, it's a weird urban design if you ask me but this seems to be out of the hotel's control. That means if you have heavy luggages and elderly with waking issues to manage, this is problematic. Reception pointed to us a slop along the steep flight of stairs but is just as steep that is might as well not exist in the first place. We asked if reception has anyone to help, perhaps a porter or a young lad around but there was none. They were also not very helpful in suggesting alternatives ways of getting into the hotel. We realised ourselves much later there is a back door on ground level although it could mean a longer walk around to get to that. but it's better than not providing any suggestions. While I don't expect the ladies at the reception to help with the heavy luggages, I thought the management could have some protocols to help guests who have issues with the steep flight of stairways. In 21st century, it is important to consider inclusivity design of service offering to achieve a more international level of standards. Just a suggestion for management consideration. Overall, it's a good hotel with awesome hardware, but the service training could be better. The reception at the front is great at doing the standard basics but could do with some improvement of being a little more sympathetic to guests reaching out for support and help. I think this hotel has great potential to compete with other big international brand names with a little more service improvements. Ibis is just literally next door but I hope Chinese brands will thrive even more in the near future. I will keep a look out for this Chinese chain in the future when visiting China ! :)
