Room is clean only the pool floor is slippery. Need to clean the algae on the floor and the slide also.

It’s my second time to this hotel, the first time is with my wife in Mar 2013, this time with my wife and children, nice trip and wonderful service!

Love to come here again and again But this time got no sunset to be seen huhu Throwback last yr sunset with the kids

Not worth at all . Seems the staff never attended a training and are very cold and far to be custom oriented. Requested made took ages to be delivered , and did only requested several times . Besides of the pool side , all facilities and room setting are old , forget the beach thing , can be called beach . Funny thing, the other sangri-la Rasa Ria , the experience was wonderful, all the staff has been very nice . So if you have to choose please go to Sangri-la Rasa Ria instead of Tanjung ! Btw , the night show was good, and breakfast also good options . The dinner outside was very poor prepared 🥲

Thank you the reception staff Mr Aiman for excellent service and excellent attitude and communication skills, he assisted with his best and we felt great and comfortable with his service , this is totally the highlight of my trip stayed with Shangri la ! A very child-friendly hotel with a very nice beach. The staff at the reception and lobby were very helpful! Spa was wonderful!

This is perfect for family vacation. This is my forth time to stay in Shangri-la Tanjung Aru, their sun set is memorable. The staff there are nice and my kids enjoyed to stay there so much! Looking forward to go there again in the future!

Simply breathtaking sunset view, great pools & hotel facilities, convenient day trip boat service to islands. Highly recommended.

Big hotel compound, and the rooms, service and amenities are good and sufficient. Room furnishing may be a little dated but definitely clean. We had whatever we needed. There was a resort feel to the place and we loved the Christmas decorations. Breakfast buffet was yummy and had wide selection. There were many kids' activities that we wanted to try but didn't have time. Would highly recommend this hotel!

A stunning hotel with poor service. The location is perfect for those looking to get from the airport and into relaxing mode. The amenities are first class and the food options are good. But, The service is so poor in comparison to the Shangri-la Ria rasa, just down the road. After staying at both, it feels like different companies. Before I arrived I asked both hotels for excursion and activity reccomendations. Ria rasa helped and booked multiple exciting tours. This hotel didn't respond multiple times, so I chased and emailed again and again. Eventually being sent a link to an excursion company with tons of 3-5 day jungle tours. This was a two night stay. When we arrived I asked again about activities. I was sent to a desk that nobody was stood at, waited for far too long, found a qr code messaged and was told it wasn't their job. Eventually in the guest handbook I found the contact details for fishing and boat tour. I didn't get a reply until after all the next days tours had departed with a message saying we are full. Honestly if you have the choice I would highly recommend the slightly longer transfer and head to the Shangri-la Ria Rasa instead. You'll be treated well, the hotel is more relaxing and the staff acknowledge your existence.

The Shanghai-La can be recommended for a stay as family. They have connected rooms and early checkin was no issue. The pool and water area is very nice and the slides made our children happy. The breakfast was great and we would go there again. Only challenge is the relatively high price.
