Lodge a circa 5 km da Kiruna in direzione Narvik, con 7 camere accoglienti con soppalco, ha pienamente soddisfatto le nostre aspettative. Buona colazione e cene veramente interessanti di cui due su tre sere servite nel tepee Sami. Il Lodge offre anche in abbinamento al soggiorno delle attività gestite da Adventure Lapland quali Dog Sledge, uscite in motoslitta e caccia all'aurora boreale. Grazie a Fabio e Mikko per averci fatto sentire come a casa...della mamma. Ci torneremo di sicuro.

Hotel fuori dal paese e raggiungibile in taxi o auto. L’hotel purtroppo non offre servizio di transfer ma potere prenotare un taxi con la app Sverigetaxi (dalla stazione 20-25 euro) Le stanze sono piccole ma ben tenute e con vista sulla neve. Piccolo Bagno privato A disposizione giubbotti imbottiti (meglio del woolrich), scarponi per la neve, moffole, colbacco. Ce ne sono molti e di tutte le taglie. Area comune ben tenuta con the e caffè sempre disponibili e rilassante camino. Bella la sauna disponibile gratuitamente. Colazione ok. L’hotel, su prenotazione, fa servizio cena. Ma non potete pranzare. Noi facevamo qualche sandwich a colazione. Prezzo onestissimo anche considerando i prezzi svedesi. La proprietà c è solo in alcuni orari, non fare affidamento sulla loro presenza. Comunque sono sempre stati disponibili e gentili. Abbiamo visto un’aurora pazzesca proprio fuori dall’hotel. Nel complesso quindi un po’ scomodo per la posizione (ma i tour operator vi vengono a prendere) , non c è sevizio pranzo o cena last minute, ma a me è piaciuto molto.

We had an amazing time in Kiruna staying at Mattarahkka Lodge, the family run Hotel was fantastic, the staff could not have been more accommodating, Experienced guides, great chef and to top it all a fantastic light show. Thank you all for making our stay so memorable

Better than advertised!! Flawless experience from start to finish...The accommodations are perfect-comfortable lodge rooms, with big windows in order to view the night skies... The food (thank you, chef Joel) was wonderful, particularly his moose stew. The activities were awesome and well organized, and we cannot wait to return again perhaps in summer. Thanks to Mikko and family and staff for creating and maintaining a most excellent adventure experience!!! We also appreciated being outfitted with great arctic gear (winter coat, snowpants, boots, gloves, balaclava), so no need to bring those things if you are staying at Mattarahkka!!

Wow, wow and wow. My wife and I are fortunate to travel well and this is has to be one of the best experiences we have ever had - ever! From the moment we got off the plane and arrived at the airport to the minute we were dropped off back at the airport, nothing was too much. we were e-mailed an itinerary and upon arrival it was completely changed to give us the best chance to see the 'lights'. The experiences were fantastic, and we saw the lights in their absolute brilliance thanks to Fabio, Rachel, and Mikko. As a once in a lifetime experience this was made to feel that way, and was. If I was to go back to see the Northern lights, I would not go anywhere else! Lovely stay and made to feel vey special. The trips were well organised and our safety was paramount to the team. If you get to experience the lights like we did, then it is the icing on the cake.

Amazing experience. We can’t recommend this place enough. Situated outside Kiruna, you can use their own ski’s for Nordic skiing, they also provide snow shoes and have snow mobiles. We booked two trips through them (Adventure Lapland) and couldn’t recommend them enough. Brilliant experiences. Skidoos with dinner in the teepee with home made soup and cake, and then a full on adventure in the snow, up and down mountains. Fabio was brilliant and so knowledgeable about the area. Mikko and his family, including Fabio are wonderful. We were treated as part of their family and offered cakes, sweets and were so welcomed. We wanted for nothing. Tea and coffee readily available along with chocolates! Breakfast was very good. Wonderful place to see the Northern Lights which we did on the first night! We also used the sauna and hot tub. Fantastic! We can’t fault this place at all. Brilliant value for money. A real homely vibe. Recommend without doubt staying here. (Although you may consider hiring a car) Thank you from Mark and Theresa

Been so looking forward to this trip - and it delivered. Very comfortable lodge to stay in, warm, cosy, lovely breakfasts and very smiley, easy going staff. All our activities were so enjoyable and no messing around. Everything prompt and organised with us having nothing to worry about. Mikka on the snowmobiles was superb and the husky dog sled my favourite. I love snow and quiet places so perfect location and exactly what I wanted it to be. So glad I stayed here and not in a 'fancy' hotel

A great experience. the guide was really great and very patient with us oldies. Good tour up to the top of a mountain with great views - and we saw moose! When we arrived back at the lodge we were given soup, bread and hot fruit drink (lingonberry?) The soup was a fish soup. They hadn't got the message that I was vegetarian, but within 5 minutes, a delicious veg soup arrived. My friends said the fish soup was fab too. Clothes were provided and were definitely warm enough. Highly recommended.

We had an amazing 2 nights at the lodge. We arrived early in the morning and our room was already ready so we could dump our suitcases and get their snow gear sorted ready for an excursion. We did 4 activities whilst at the lodge - the Sami experience, dinner in the tepee and northern lights chasing, snow mobile trip, and a hot tub hour. All the tours were brilliantly organised and run by happy, knowledgable, friendly people. We had a cloudy night for our northern lights chasing, but instead of doing nothing Adrian took us on an informative tour of Kiruna and explained about the iron ore mining and the town being relocated as a result. The food was lovely and I’d recommend the gin & tonics infused with hand picked berries and spruce by Barbara!!
