While the island and house reef were pleasant, they lacked the exceptional allure one might expect, especially having experienced other resorts. For first-time visitors to the Maldives, the service might appear adequate, but regrettably, when compared to other hotels and resorts of the same caliber, it falls below par. Our arrival was spoiled by a mishandled reservation process, resulting in a lack of communication and confusion regarding our check-in. Despite promises of a warm welcome and early arrangements, we found ourselves waiting without prior notice. Even after addressing this issue, the response to my concerns was dismissive and inadequate. Furthermore, we were promised a late checkout, only to be rudely informed during our dinner that we needed to vacate our villa due to incoming guests. This unexpected and unprofessional action disrupted our plans and cast a shadow over our evening. Safety precautions were lacking, as evident from the absence of warning signs in the coral reef area, leading to an injury. Additionally, the absence of guidance signs around the overwater villas posed a potential hazard to guests. What added to our disappointment was the manager's disrespectful attitude and reluctance to address our concerns. Overall, the disregard for customer complaints, potential negligence in safety measures, and disrespectful treatment by management have left an indelibly negative impression of our experience at Anantara Kihavah Resort. I hope this review draws attention to the need for improved customer service, safety precautions, and respectful treatment of guests.
