Nice hotel and staff, but we got food poisoning from Beach Bar restaurant. The main restaurant was closed for evening meals. Would advise not eating here and use the many restaurants in area outside the hotel. Difficult if you’ve already booked half board !!

We are a family of 4, with 2 children ages 13 and 11, the room was a bit small for us with 3 single beds and a hard mattress on the floor (part of the sofa bed). Other than that, the hotel was great. We hired a paddle board and surf board which was great fun. The Buffett breakfast was lovely. The location is ideal, just a 10 minute walk in to town. Lovely hotel, but probably more suitable for couple than a family with teenagers.

We stayed at this resort from 28 February to 13 March 2024 staying in a villa/bungalow on the all inclusive basis with TUI. This was our 4th visit having stayed in 2017, 2018 and 2023. The hotel sits right next to the fabulous Khao Lak beach. The grounds are extensive and well maintained as are the two swimming pools. We have stayed in both the rooms and the villas, both are similar size, spacious, well appointed and thoroughly cleaned daily. There was a mini bar with water, beer and soft drinks which was included in the all inclusive package. The Oriental Restaurant was only used for breakfast during our stay, open between 6:30 and 10:30 and had everything we needed, with all the staff really helpful. Lunches and evening meals were served at the Sundowners Restaurant which looks over the beach. A stunning setting to watch the sun set. There was an a la carte menu at lunch offering Thai, pasta, burgers/sandwiches and desserts and one for dinner which was more extensive with Thai, pasta dishes, fish, steaks and desserts. They had a themed buffet at dinner on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday alongside the a la carte menu. The drinks menu included beers, cocktails, spirits, soft drinks and hot drinks and were served from 11am until the restaurant closed. The Sundowners staff were amazing and I’d like to pass on my sincere thanks to Ju, A, Jeab, Na, Nan, Thai, May, Ao, Benz, Poppy, Winso and Aummy for looking after us so well. Apologies if I’ve missed anyone as they were all fantastic. Thank you so much for the lovely birthday cake for my husband’s birthday too. There was another bar near the reception but we only went a couple of times. There was a wine bar but this was not included in the all inclusive package. The beach was great for walking and running on and there were a lot of people enjoying the sea/waves. There was a gym and massages available but we didn’t use either. There are quite a lot of steps in the resort but we didn’t find them a problem. The staff all worked so hard to ensure we had a wonderful experience, we had such a great time we are in the process of booking our next visit and look forward to seeing everyone again in 2025.

Great hotel the rooms were huge and always serviced well. The shower was brilliant, large balcony. Breakfast was very good and there was a great variety to chose from. The whole garden n pool areas were kept very clean n tidy n all hotel workers were very helpful n polite although there was an occasional language barrier. The pool was just the right temperature and it was very relaxing n never overcrowded. Plenty of sun beds but as usual there were a few too many people who would reserve their sun beds n not return for hours…… greedy and selfish! The beach is lovely and there are plenty of places to eat during the day. Head to the beach…turn right and walk for 100 yards x2 lovely beach type restaurants. The hotel was brilliantly located for restaurants but beware some do not take cards which can be somewhat irritating. The two best restaurants were directly opposite the hotel esp the gold elephant which greeted you with a wonderful cool flannel, excellent service and wonderful food….there you can use your card. The Qcumber restaurant is v small but lively food n its best to reserve table .. they only take cash. Tsunami museum is well worth the visit n quite emotional. The market nearby is definitely worth a visit. For a different beach take a taxi to White sands beach !
