Premier Inn Kendal Central

Took 45 minutes to check, room was filthy, only two towels for family of 3, no additional pillows. Internet did not work. Power cut at night which they could not resolve and had no empty rooms so spent night without lighting or entertainment.

There is no parking at this premier inn. They share it with the pub next door, so was full on Sunday when we arrived. People were queued outside trying to get in, waiting in the cold. After checking in discovered the room wasn't made up. Toilet seat was also broken. Went to get some food in the bar next door only to be told that they had stopped serving early. At no point did any of the unhelpful staff apologise or go out of their way to make amends. Terrible terrible terrible

I rate Premier Inn highly and this was excellent. 1 towel instead of 2 was easily resolved. Limited parking could have been an issue if we arrived later, and cost another £7 per night. Bar/restaurant opens 6pm, had to change plans. But these were just a few minors, it was above average and I was pleased.

I would like to comment on the helpfulness, kindness and friendliness of three staff members, Hazel and Megan in the restaurant and Rose on reception, they could not have been more willing to help. We were v well looked after. The room was quiet, comfortable and well equipped, a really excellent stay, thank you

Free (unasked for!) upgrade to premier plus, usual large super-comfortable bed, lovely toiletries. Will definitely stay again! Staff very welcoming and helpful. Easy to find and very central to downtown Kendal. Excellent find! We will be back!

Queuing up outside for check in Woman in front of me was complaining about her room being freezing so receptionist gave her another room, only to be told by receptionist ‘ oh I’ve just given your room to that lady” My prem plus room had no coffee machine, I told receptionist but she did nothing, she was more interested in telling me she just come back from 3 weeks on the sick with a chest infection. Had a faulty shower, no hooks on the bathroom door, hairs in the shower. Noisy room due to traffic. Room 228 was shocking and how they call it a prem plus room and get away with charging for it is shocking. First and last time at this premier inn, by far the worst I’ve ever stayed at.
