Abbiamo scelto di tornare in questo hotel dopo dieci anni in quanto ci eravamo trovati molto bene e offriva un buon rapporto prezzo sulla base dei nostri ricordi. Purtroppo l'hotel non si è rivelato all'altezza delle nostre aspettative e dei nostri ricordi. In primis non abbiamo la certezza che ci siano state assegnate le stanze superior che notoriamente sono ai piani alti (noi avevamo upgrade e tutte le stanze al 2 3 piano ossia sotto il livello della lobby). Le stanze erano impregnate di fumo, veniva dai tendaggi e dalla tappezzeria e tutto denota il segno del tempo, avrebbero bisogno di una ripulita generale. In molte stanze la tv non funzionava, i paralumi erano scollati e molte lampadine fulminate. Nel nostro bagno il phone non funzionava, dopo pochi minuti si surriscaldava e si spegneva (anche se hanno provveduto alla sostituzione il giorno dopo, va detto), La sera del nostro arrivo nella nostra stanza non c'erano gli asciugamani per il viso, fatta richiesta al rientro non erano stati comunque portati e quando li abbiamo chiesti ci sono stati consegnati altri due asciugamani doccia per di più sporchi. Altro grosso problema la pulizia delle aree comune, nella lobby c'era polvere ovunque e peli del gatto dell'hotel. Si sa che a Istanbul i gatti sono i padroni ma in un hotel non si può permettere a un gatto di circolare ovunque, una amica ha iniziato a starnutire tutto il tempo, un'altra non ha fatto colazione per via della presenza dell'animale. Ma il vero problema è stata la colazione. Oltre a esserci scarsissima scelta per chi voleva fare una colazione dolce, il tutto era a buffet, senza alcuna copertura con bambini che giravano indisturbati e giocavano con il cibo senza che nessuno dell'hotel vigilasse ma soprattutto con il gatto che salvava sulle sedie e sui tavoli, poggiandosi a dormire sulle tovagliette dove poi ignari ospiti avrebbero poggiato il cibo e viene da pensare che il gatto avrebbe potuto anche andare a leccare il cibo direttamente dal buffet. Nelle stanze si soffocava di caldo e unico modo per respirare è stato dormire con le finestre aperte il che di inverno non è il massimo. Infine, l'ultimo giorno ci hanno tenuto i bagagli in quello che pensavamo fosse un locale a ciò dedicato. Invece oltre a ritrovarli accatastati in due stanzette adibite a deposito di qualsiasi cosa, sono riusciti a rompere una valigia rigida. All'inizio hanno provato a declinare responsabilità sostenendo che nessuno era sceso nella stanza, ma i bagagli erano stati portati giù da loro e quindi il danno lo avevano fatto loro. Va riconosciuto che hanno provveduto a dare una cifra a ristoro del danno ma certe cose sarebbe meglio evitarle. Quindi ancorché l'hotel sia centrale e in posizione comoda per visitare la parte vecchia, abbia una bella vista sul bosforo e sull'asia dalla stanza della colazione, i ragazzi addetti cerchino di venire incontro alle esigenze dei clienti, di sicuro è sceso molto come qualità delle stanze e dei servizi e il prezzo pagato al

My recent stay at a purported four-star hotel was disappointing. Despite its rating, it failed to meet even basic standards, resembling more of a two-star establishment. The theft of my wallet from the room was deeply concerning, highlighting serious security flaws. Additionally, the state of the bathroom was appalling, and the breakfast offered was of poor quality. However, I must acknowledge the professionalism and kindness of the gentleman at the reception desk. His friendly demeanor was a rare positive aspect in an otherwise disappointing experience. In conclusion, based on my stay, I cannot recommend this hotel. The issues with safety, cleanliness, and overall quality overshadow any positives it may have.

My experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing. The bathroom was dirty, trash was piled up behind the radiator, and to make matters worse, my wallet went missing from my room while it was left on the bed. Upon reviewing the security footage, neither my entry nor exit from the room was captured, which is deeply concerning. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone.

Very good hotel with great staff Centrally located to all the historical places in the old city. Nice eating places around and they would help small trips. Highly recommend for family Good spread of breakfast with nice sea view They have hotel and airport drop options as well

This hotels location was fantastic. Do not expect too much more though, the hotel was old and a bit dark. Breakfast was mediocre at best. But the location was perfect, right in the centre of town very close to major tourist attractions. Lots to do and some good restaurants within walking distance.

We had a great time at the hotel. The manager, Enes, and his staff were always helpful and pleasant. The rooms were large and comfortable, especially considering the very affordable price. Easy walking to Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Bazaar. Situated just down from a busy street of restaurants and shops. Enes suggested several restaurants and experiences that greatly enhanced our stay.

A small boutique hotel located in Sultanahmet. Apparently it used to be a home before converted into 2 separate hotels (one of them is Sumengen Hotel). We stayed in deluxe room facing the street. Can get quite noisy at night as the opposite are restaurants. However it didn’t keep us awake. Bathroom had a bath tub and has reasonable water pressure. Room had basic amenities like mineral water (first day only), coffee/tea, tv, WiFi. Brekfast at rooftop and buffet spread was acceptable. Turkish style. Location is good as is close to tourist attractions and shops. If you walk uphill, there’s also a bazaar which means if you’re short of time, there’s no need to go to the Grand Bazaar. Generally it was a pleasant stay. If any complaints would be I asked if concierge would help me post 2 postcards (already stamped) for me as we were in a rush. The cards did not arrive to the destination. Lol Would not mind staying here again. The restaurant opposite has served yummy food too.

I don’t understand how people can be so liar. This is one if the worst hotelyou will stay. Not at all spacious. We booked 3 hotels last month and was really nightmare staying here. AC not working. Baby cot was bought but was damaged and torn. No proper bedding No mattern what you ask the persons working there they will say I don’t know anything

the staff especially the 2 guys that work the front desk have exceptional customer service and they truly made our experience at the hotel amazing. I have stayed at many hotels throughout the United States and many other countries but my experience at Sumengen Hotel was excellent due to the quality of customer service. Very good location for sight seeing.

This was an outstanding hotel. A reasonably sized room, very comfortable and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was one of the better Turkish breakfasts that we had on our stay in the country. A nice view of the Bosporus at breakfast. The location is superb, within an easy walk of many of the important sites in the Sultanahmet district. I would definitely stay here again!

My wife and I just stayed seven nights at Sumengen Hotel and had a wonderful experience. The front desk staff were so helpful and the free breakfast was excellent: fresh each day and so many options. Our room on the fourth floor had panoramic views of the Bosphorus - magic to wake up to each morning. We invited some friends to join us for three nights and the hotel gave them a beautiful room on the sixth floor. I would stay again here next time. The Sumengen is ideally located within walking distance of great restaurants, tourist attractions and the tramway. So happy we stayed.

This hotel has attentive and caring staff, clean rooms, good local breakfast and a great location. Tucked in a corner street, walking distance from Sultanahmet Square, Grand Bazaar and the Tramway. Look no further!

We arrived late and was greeted by the receptionist called Can he helped us a lot and in the daytime melitsah and yunus were also a great help. They helped us a great deal with our bags, with advice, made us feel very comfortable and we’re very polite we enjoyed our stay and will be staying here again thank you all

İ booked the room for 2 person with my wife very nice and clean room, the breakfast very delious and soo much kends of turkish foods actually we liked the location inside old city in sultan Ahmet neer From every thing we will back next year thank you very much 😍
