The Fig Tree Shanklin

Exceptional service, Heather saw I had mobility problems and provided a shower stool. Excellent breakfast. Ensured I had disabled parking space as I use a wheelchair. The room was on the third floor, no problem they have a super lift.

We stayed at the Fig Tree Hotel for two nights- what a wonderful hotel! It was for a special family occasion and the owners and staff looked after us amazingly well- a massive thanks to them for a lovely stay.

I was made to feel welcome from the start. The young lad on reception couldn't have been more helpful. The room was nice and clean and the shower out of this world. The cooked breakfast which was included in the price was very nice and all for a very reasonable price. Would I stay there again, oh yes is the answer to that.

If you're looking for a lovely hotel in a nice area, this is the hotel for you. If, however, you spend your day sightseeing and mainly use your hotel room to get a good night's sleep, well, I highly encourage you to look elsewhere. I spent 2 nights in this hotel and they were about as bad as they could be. I've never stayed in a hotel where the walls were so thin that snoring from the room next door kept me up most of the night. On night one I was woken up by snoring. I couldn't believe it, I was even wearing earplugs. I tried to move the mattress to another part of the room or even the bathroom but I wasn't strong enough. I lost several hours sleep that night and I told the front desk about it the next day. I was told that the people in that room had checked out, but that another party had checked in. I felt better knowing that the other people had checked out and what are the odds that it would happen again with the new people? Well, the odds were 100% because the new people snored longer and louder. I was so angry that I called the front desk but the phone didn't work. So, in the middle of the night I had to get dressed and go down to the front desk, only to find it dark and a note saying to call a specific number. It was 4 am and I just went back to my room and waited until morning to check out. When I got back with my tour group most of them raved about how great their hotel rooms were...I wasn't one of them.

Nice size room, clean but the bed is way to small for two people.. Im not tall and my feed hung out of the bed half the night. Parking is super and location too. Waited almost an hour for the breakfast the next day as well as another 30mins to check out due to understaffing for the needed customers.

gorgeous location with a sea view with super quiet idyllic surrounding areas, staff were super accommodating and friendly, plenty of parking space, breakfast was lovely and lots of options, comfy and spacious rooms and balconies are such an added vibe! Perfect 3 nights for a girls weekend away, will 100% be saying again! Worth every penny - thank you to The Fig Tree Team!
