An 18th century converted farmhouse- The Machrie boasts 47 stylish rooms- suites and lodges. Each room has been tastefully decorated- many with fabulous views over the fairway towards the ocean.
Since opening in September 2018- The Machrie has become a popular destination to enjoy friendly- attentive service- breath-taking views- fabulous links golf- exquisite food and luxurious accommodation. Guests can choose from a total of 47 bedrooms- suites and lodges. PureGray is a small sanctuary that provides a wide range of mind and body treatments for your wellbeing. We have a fabulous collection of local and international whiskies as well as our Perfect Serve Gins. We can arrange whisky tastings at the hotel.
Flexible conference and meeting space for up to 120 delegates. We offer conference and event planners a wealth of flexible options to plan the ideal day or residential event. Take advantage of our teams local knowledge in arranging a wide range of team building and group activities such as clay target shooting- fishing- a kayak trip around Islays coastline- a fat bike tour on the beach or visit one of the islands 9 whisky distilleries.
Set in the dunes of Islay- Queen of the Hebrides- the course has now been fully modernised by D J Russell- the former European Ryder Cup Vice Captain and PGA tour player.
There is a reason why the Scots invented golf on links land- Machrie land- and the links turf on which the course sits is among the finest in Scotland. The dramatic setting of Laggan Bay and the sand dunes has few equals- and with the ever changing nature of the challenge offered by this acclaimed layout. In addition to The Machrie Links there is also wonderful additional golf facilities- The Wee Course is a six-hole par 3 course where there are a multitude of options of which holes to play. I dropped in for a beverage while dropping off clients who were staying here during their whisky tour. The interior, views and landscape where extremely relaxing. I loved my hot chocolate served in an indulgently oversized and ornate teacup

It's dubbed as an International luxury hotel. While our room (the Islay room) was very good and the hotel was spotlesly clean, the service (lax) and restaurant (overcooked lobster amongst others) did not live up to the promise.

The hotel was perfect. Golf is incredible, restaurant very good and the staff accommodating. Very nice, clean rooms.

The room was amazing the breakfast was by far best I have had in hotel you must have amazing chefs breakfast was totally outstanding the scenery was spectacular all around to see so much wildlife was something else the deer seals birds amazing island

The Machrie Hotel is a real gem, set in the rolling dunes on Islay. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and nothing was ever too much trouble. The choices on the menu were more than enough and all food was cooked and presented to the highest standards. I will definitely be back to play a few rounds of golf here.

A perfect stay for relaxing and taking in the amazing views. The beaches are some of the best we have seen. The people are so friendly and welcoming and the whisky went down well too!

Plan your visit well as you need to catch a ferry over so length of stay maybe dictated by timetable unless you fly over from Glasgow. Once at The Machrie you'll enjoy a first class golf course and food
