Our recent stay at Killean Cottages near Inverary was unfortunately marked by some significant disappointments. While the cottage had a few positive aspects, such as being self-catering with a reasonably equipped kitchen and a washing machine, these were overshadowed by basic ammenty issues that detracted from the overall experience. The most glaring problem was the showers, which were faulty and had no hot water despite all switches being on and there being hot water available to the sinks both upstairs and downstairs. This meant that after long days of walking and hiking, we were left without any bathing facilities for two days. A functioning shower is a basic expectation of any accommodation, and the absence of this was frustrating. When we raised the issue with the manager, we were informed that a plumber would be coming to fix the problem. However, upon checking out, the manager casually mentioned, "Oh yes - he didn’t come." This response added to our dissatisfaction, as it felt like our concerns were not taken seriously. The scenery around Killean Cottages is indeed lovely, but unfortunately, the lack of basic amenities like a working shower overshadowed what could have been a pleasant stay. I hope management and the owners take these issues seriously in the future.
