Lots of lovely oaks adorn the island and the beaches, well, they speak for themselves.The Wooden Whale is located very close to the Swain's Cut Bridge (the "new bridge"), one of two access points to the island. There are two grocery stores on the island (Food Lion and Publix on Oak Island Drive) in addition to Lowe's Foods located just across the Middleton bridge. The island is motor and pedestrian-friendly. Oak Island Drive has sidewalks that run it's length and the neighborhood streets are quiet and calm.We have six beach chairs & umbrellas for you to use, and an excellent rental service to recommend if additional items are needed. Two lounge chairs are also available, although we ask you refrain from taking them to the beach - they are perfect for sunbathing at the house.Sadly, no pets are allowed and smoking is strictly prohibited in the house.
