The River Village

房間比較小，沒有空調，是公共的衞生間，但還是比較乾淨

The hotel is located near the River but you have to walk about 1km to reach the place (reception) as you do not get any transportation / taxi from the Interlaken train station. Very inconvenient if you have luggage and small children and older people. Hotel does not have any pick up and drop service. Commuting from the place to take the train or bus on daily basis for sightseeing options is a bit difficult. Only Harder Klum is nearby. Tourists can find many better hotels near the station or prominent Interlaken West area. Our room (403) did not have a good view. Only a few rooms have closer view of the River. Accommodation is just okay. The hotel has put up notice that even tap water costs money. In Breakfast you do not get water though they charge 15CHF for the same. Breakfast is simply pathetic and poor style vis-a-vis many other hotels you stay in other places in Switzerland. Food is just okay - nothing great Indian food. Pricy though. No nearby restaurants to source food. You have to walk towards station after crossing the River to get many options of food. The reception opens late at 2PM and closes at 9/10PMand late arriving guests will have problem (we met a French Muslim family reaching after 2PM (they knocked on our door seeking help as they saw the light in the room) and not able to find any help). One good thing is to mention here that the owner dropped us at the station (my wife was a bit sick and we had a booking for Jungfrau visit). We booked the Taxi through the reception but were informed that the same has not been done and the reception clerk simply stated on enquiry that we had not confirmed can booking. The hotel is below Par when considered the money you pay for your stay. With the same charges you get far better hotels near Station and main Interlaken area. Our stay was surely not good. Given a choice, we would avoid this place.

This property is located by the side of a river, overlooking the mountains. Excellent location at a walkable distance (without luggage) from Interlaken Train Station. The place reopened after a detailed renovation in April this year. Since we were one of the first guests, everything was brand new inside the room. The chalets give a homely feeling, with spacious rooms, but with a small bathroom. The room is well furnished with a bed, sofa bed and two chairs. There is also a kitchenette but it is not available for guests' use yet. Beware, there is a fine of SFr 300 if you use the oven!! As of now, this cannot be considered a full scale Hotel, because the reception does not work 24/7 and the restaurant opens only at 2 pm. We did not opt for "room service" breakfast, as supermarkets and restaurants are available near the train station. As we were not craving for Indian food, we did not use the Hotel's restaurant service. Views from the room are superb and full marks for the location. The owner(s) are directly involved in managing the property and hence one can expect higher service levels. Our request for an early check in was accommodated, and we were pretty impressed with their attitude. We had only one glitch during our stay. Had arranged with the reception, a taxi for an early morning trip to the railway station for our onward travel to the next country. Unfortunately even after 7 minutes of waiting, the taxi never arrived. In Switzerland, every second counts, and are masters of punctuality. Since there was no rain, we managed to walk up to the station, pushing / pulling our large bags and reached in time for our train. My advice is to get the phone number to the taxi operator upfront, so that follow up can be done direct, in case it doesn't show up. Unfortunately the hotel reception phone number takes you to an answering system at that time of the day. In spite of this episode, I would definitely recommend this place, as everything else was excellent during our stay and I am sure that all amenities will be available to the guests in the very near future.
