Homewood Suites by Hilton Indianapolis Northwest

We stayed 9 nights and planned to prepare most of our own food as we usually do at a homewood suites. Furnishings were worn, shower dated, kitchen poorly stocked for cooking. There was no coffee pot! Only a single drip hotel machine that requires their coffee pods. Not a "home" experience. Fridge and microwave were old, and stove top is old style burner. Plates, silverware, cooking utensils missing. The price was reasonable...but I'm not sure Hilton would want their name used this way.

I chose this place because it was highly rated. Was disappointed with many things. Hot tub empty, pool a mess. Breakfast was decent. Left my therapeutic pillow with a distinct pillowcase from home and called and no one somehow can find it. I believe they just threw it out. They even checked with the person who cleaned the room and somehow they have no idea anything about my pillow that I know I left there. I even called the day I checked out and somehow nobody can help me with this. I made my displeasure known but of course they don't want to do anything about it. It was quiet and a decent place to stay. Just needs an upgrade to management and service some maintenance to the property.

Room was prepaid. Arrived 8/10/24 to find out the room had been given away. We were let into a room that had a shower that did not function and did were not given a key (found out the next morning we were never actually booked into a room). Kids had to sleep on the floor. The folks onsite were nice and apologetic, but all management offered were extra points. Very poor experience especially for a prepaid room. We will not be using Hilton properties in the future.

The hotel is understaffed and poorly trained. There is only one person on duty at any given time and although that person tries they are poorly trained and unsupported. There is no access to a manager and security is seriously compromised due to the lack of staffing. Their IT support is virtually non-existent.

Room key never worked, hot tub closed, and pool was gross. We had to get keys made 7 times! Yes Seven! Staff was rude at times and several smelled like ****. Got tub was closed with a sign saying it was shut down by the health department. Pictures of the pool online are glamour shots for sure. Pool is yellowed at the bottom and pool ladder was pure black below the water line (but stainless steel originally). Room was decently clean but was not typical Hilton Quality. The bathroom sink would not drain and needed snaked. Lastly, the mirror was gross when we entered the room. I would avoid this property unless you are in a pinch.

The lobby and breakfast area were updated and clean. That’s where it ends. Our room door barely latched, you could see under and through the side of the door. The carpet, walls, chairs, ottoman, tables, nightstands, and couch was absolutely filthy. We stayed in the double Queen Bedroom. White stains on the couch, dirt and grime are actually worse than the most recent review below that covered the phones, door handles, doors, walls and tv. We actually had to call for someone to bring cleaning supplies as soon as we walked in but they refused to let us clean ourselves to make sure it was done properly. They sent someone who couldn’t speak English with a spray bottle and dirty cloth. You could tell only the tops of the tables and counter had been “wiped off” but the legs and sides, cabinets, fridge etc were so disgusting. The room looks nothing like the photos listed on their site. We thought maybe we would try again on a separate visit in February and called to ask for an “updated” room and was told nothing has been remodeled in the several years this front desk attendant had been working there and that “she’s been there for almost 10 years”. Ok…. So, we booked downtown Homewood Suites and were extremely happy we did! Pay the extra $10-$20 and see the difference! I’m absolutely shocked it was only that little of a difference in price but the service, breakfast, area and omg the rooms!!!! Again, the rooooooms!!!!!
