Stay Hotel

Spent 2 lovely nights at the Stay hotel and I would definitely return, the great location will be further improved when the town regeneration works are complete. Its really centrally located and staff were friendly and helpful. There was a small issue in the first room we were assigned, it was dealt with quickly and courteously. We were quickly offered anther room, while the staff immediately set about fixing the issue. Having seen 2 rooms - both were very nicely presented and comfortably furnished. With a great shower, and lovely Molton Brown toiletries. Hairdryer and iron were both provided on request. Breakfast was beyond what I expected. Thoroughly enjoyed it on both mornings We will definitely book the Stay hotel for our next visit to Huddersfield

On arrival I was asked for photo id which they photo copied? Luckily I keep my drivers licence in the car which they insisted I fetched. First time I’ve been asked in UK.! Took a deposit on my card, ‘for possible damages?? & sundries from the room’ and was told it would be refunded within 48hours. Over 5 days later and I’ve received no refund and was told to call my bank. This is the reason for my review as my colleague has the same problem!!! Tight parking for a maximum of 5 cars ( 6 if you block one in ) Breakfast included. Nice fruit and scrambled egg. (Turkey/chicken sausage & turkey/chicken bacon also available ) No bar.

Stayed one night for work, hotel looks nice from outside although not in nice part of town, I walked from the station on a bright evening, didn’t feel particularly nice, would have got a cab had it been dark, arrived at hotel asked why is the restaurant closed to be told we don’t have an evening restaurant ask what food options McDonald’s and Nando’s apparently so has to walk back to the high street. Hotel had a nice appearance and was spotless clean, I had a ground floor room which was very noisy throttle night sounded like a washing machine was doing a cycle. Room was also cold

Upon arrival and check in the hotel was nice clean and welcoming. We were put in room 203. What was not explained was there was civil works hoing on outside so ive been woken up at 0430 with a truck and forklift outside the window. Upon explaining to the front desk about this, i was told it's nothing to do with them its the council. I understand this however as this had been going on for sometime a pre warning or offer of another room would have been enough for 4 stars. However this was not the case. I wont be back unfortunately.

Room was very good. Reception very helpful! Room needs a bit of work , cracks under window sill and such. The biggest disappointment was the cooked breakfast , deep fried sausages, bacon was awful, mushrooms cut into a million bits, the continental breakfast was good , however the clearing of the tables was non existent and we had to wait 25 minutes for a cooked a breakfast that was of poor quality .

Visited here for a gig at The Parish - check in was easy, friendly and a wow factor when you walked in off the street. Room was presented well but needed some repairs as toilet roll holder was extremely loose - shower shelf was slanted causing the shower gel to slide off. Bed frame had collapsed slightly in the middle although did not affect our sleep. Room was clean. Snack bar in room was ok priced and would be deducted from the £50 deposit which was also for any damage caused. We did not have any snacks nor damage room So awaiting the refund as I type this. Would we stay again? Yes we would.
