Noah’s Ark Hotel & Resort

Less than 1 minute from the beach. There is a semi-private balcony. I wish checkout was later than 11am. Noisy when they are cleaning the rooms in the morning, around 9-10am. This island is very relaxing. Bus to HK airport in about 30 minutes is less than a 10 minute walk from the hotel and cost about USD8. Buses to subway take about the same time and cost around the same.

Location was horrible, it was at a restricted area. Description says "taxi can enter and exit FREELY" but it didn't mention there are restricted time frame. When I booked the hotel I even mentioned and asked I'll be entering at a specific time but they did not mention anything to me. When we call the hotel to double confirm they couldn't even tell us an exact answer. The taxi driver had to drop me off at the taxi station and my husband and I had to take 3 extremely tired kids and 3 large luggage to walk up and down the hills to enter the hotel. Normal adult it might take 5 mins but for us was 15 mins with crying kids and had to take 3 extremely heavy luggages. The hotel signs were horrible as well they are very unclear. First of all, I dunno why they would build a "hotel" at a restricted area as you should actually be able to freely enter and exit hotels. Second of all, if there are conflicting information between the government and hotel they should sort it out and make it clear, than they should CLEARLY mention them in their description and not just list out vague description. All hotel staff should know and understand these restrictions and be able to explain them to guests. The staff at the front desk couldn't answer my simple question, "can taxi enter the hotel front door at this time (6am)". However the other staff was nice ie cleaning staff (but they were on the phone all the time kinda unprofessional) and the staff at the gift shop was very helpful. When I booked the hotel it mentioned there are kids play area with pictures, however when I got there there are no kids play area, the area where it "used to" have the kids play area is empty! Extremely disappointed, there is an outdoor playground which is blocked off maybe it's because it was raining? Who knows. The experience at this hotel was poor in general, but it is indeed nice, unique and clean.
