Having just returned from a birthday stay and read some of the other reviews i felt i had to leave a review ourselves. Like many others have said, the location is stunning, but the service and general 'feel' of the place is lacking. For the price point it really needs to be A+ service but falls far short, a lot of the simple things were poorly executed, or simply not thought about. - The management were informed of dietary requirements weeks in advance but treats left in the room had allergens in them. Not a massive issue, but again, its the small touches that make the difference when paying £300 a night. - There is clearly a staffing issue, we had our planned massage treatments cancelled 2 hours before due to staff sickness, can't be helped, but again left a sour taste. - Our evening food order was incorrect, but was dealt with swiftly. Perhaps the most disappointing thing however was the steam room being out of order, something that another reviewer reported over a month ago, this could have been explained to us on arrival, but we found out when we went to the pool. Issues like this could and should have been sorted swiftly, especially as we saw workmen around the spa throughout our stay. I will say the lady on reception (Caroline) was lovely and very apologetic, and we were offered compensation off our food bill, which was accepted, and reflected in the review score we've given. However that aside it is evident from the other reviews here, and our own experience, that long-standing issues exist with the management, service and staffing which lets down what could be a nice spa

What a great find. Such a lovely stylish hotel with kind, friendly and helpful staff. I’m sure guests return year after year as the hotel is one of a kind in that area of Norfolk. The hotel was pretty quiet when we were there but there’s plenty of lovely spots to sit and relax should it get busy.

They are rude staff and management. I don't recommend this place to anyone. I felt like I didn't belong there the whole stay. Very curt responses to queries. I'm not going to consider this company's other properties either. I will definitely do more research when considering a stay in Langham.

A fantastic 2 night surprise gift from my husband for my 70th birthday. From first entering the hotel and being greeted by Yaz, a very professional, knowledgeable and friendly member of staff, the right mood was set. It continued in the same vein. Room was beautiful, food excellent with the chef even adapting a dish as I am allergic to shellfish. Spa was excellent and I had a very relaxing massage. Will definitely be back. Val Irving

Third stay for us for a special occasion but we didn’t enjoy it this time. Having enjoyed two great stays previously, we were surprised that things were so bad. We echo the comments on the reviews we have just read on the limited choice, food quality and average greasy breakfast. You can’t have Kellog’s boxes out in a hotel like this and some sad looking hard melon as the fruit choice. It’s turned a bit premier inn. We remember the steam room being out of order a year ago. Unacceptable. Sauna far too hot and it burnt our feet this time, 30 minutes is too short and people could share the spa use. We wouldn’t go back, Real shame as we have had some good stays and food was good previously.

We had an outstanding experience staying at The Harper for 3 days and will definitely be returning. The staff were all so helpful and friendly. We were so welcome and at ease there. Special mention to Henry who looked after us one evening in Stanley's - a real asset to the team. He gave us tips about where to visit and was an excellent host! Also we have to mention Tom, the recently appointed head chef. His food is exquisite. We ended up returning to the hotel restaurant for a second night following an incredible meal that he and his team of chefs prepared. He even made us a brand new dish he was developing which wasn't on the menu yet (and it was incredible). If you live nearby, you should definitely get over there to try the newly developing menu!! We had great chats with Piers who looks after things overnight and he went above and beyond to make sure we had a lovely stay. The rooms are well appointed with loads of extras (cocktails in the fridge etc). We loved the private spa booking system. It's not difficult to do and you get told when you book your room that you should book the spa slots. We went a couple of times and it was fab to have the whole place to yourself. Don't hesitate to book here.
