I booked to stay for NYE to avoid traffic after party. We checked in at 7pm for myself and my gf who is a local Vietnamese. We provided both of our IDs. When we back at 4am, we realized our room card was disabled. We went to the front desk and the staff blocked us from entering into the room and said we have to “re-register” which we have no clue what it means. One of the staffs (local Vietnamese guy) then said i can go back to room but my gf cannot stay in, reason being “she does not look like the hotel guest” (word for word). This is absolutely disrespectful and unreasonable- for when both checked in earlier. I then talked to the more senior staff next-by and demand that both of us have to get into our room to rest. The senior guy then checked our check-in info and finally let us in. The next morning the hotel manager reached out to us and apologized for the wrongdoing. Honestly i have been staying in numerous hotels around the world and this is my first time experiencing such unpleasant and impolite treatment. i appreciate any hotel policy and fully cooperate with such. However that particular staff is extremely offensive- it completely destructs the image of the hotel. I think the management needs to review his work attitude and carefully assess whether he is suitable for his job.
