Marriott's SurfWatch

Lovely, spacious 2-bedroom/2-bath suite with balcony, very clean. All new furnishings. Full kitchen had all the items needed to prepare simple meals. Master bath had an enormous shower for two. Unfortunately the beds were not very comfortable, too hard, and disrupted our sleep. Staff were all top-notch, very professional and courteous. We were able to check in early. It is gated and seemed safe. Amenities were the highlight: 2 outdoor heated pools/jacuzzis, 1 indoor pool & jacuzzi, cornhole, bocce ball, volleyball, foozball, pickle ball, playground and a full gym and sauna. It was a very cold week (30s) and the pools were all warm and delightful. They had a reasonable bike shop on site, which offered e-bikes, cruisers, trikes, “tag-along bikes”, wagons and even kids bikes with training wheels. They also offered fishing rods to take advantage of the pond stocked with catfish, perch, and bass. We so loved biking on the beach and also through the bike paths in nearby Chaplain Park. We took advantage of many of the included activities, which were a hit with the kids - fire pits with smores, live music, bbq night, arts & crafts, star gazing, storytelling, live owl and hawk demo, yoga. They also had several cocktail and wine happy hours complimentary. The beach required walking about 10 minutes on a boardwalk over the beautiful salt marsh. There are bathrooms, a heated pool, and snack bar right by the beach. The waves seemed pretty calm. Unfortunately the snack bar was closed when we visited and there was no restaurant on site, so be prepared to cook or go out. Recommend visiting the Harbourtown lighthouse and the Coastal Discovery Center for kids.

The entire staff at this property is exceptional! and totally aware of every special noke and hidden gem in Hiltonhead.. Loved our experience and the special events at the property were completely enjoyable .. Walking on the beach is the bonus to the property

One of the best Marriott resort vacations we have experienced. We are Marriott time share owners and can't say enough about how great this stay was. The grounds are lovely and well maintained. We had a three bedroom, three bathroom unit. The 5100 building was perfect, close to the beach walk and pool with bike shop right underneath. The bikes rental on property was a huge plus. We were able to rent for the week and we rode everyday all through Hilton Head which is my favorite feature of this island--the bike friendly trails. The unit was clean, comfortable and spacious. One day we rented a cabana--not cheap but fun for a day-- since we were entertaining guests who stayed with us in the 3rd bedroom. The cabanas have couches and tables so you can eat there comfortably right alongside the pool. The pool bar is convenient with "ok" food for lunch. The service was one of the best things about this Marriott. Everyone we encountered was polite and extremely helpful and accommodating. A special shout out to Rosa at the front desk, Michael in the bike shop and AUSTIN who came to rescue us on the bike path when my cousin got her jacket stuck in the bike chain. He came out to meet us with a new bike and a wrench!!! Also Cara in the sales office was awesome and informative yet we did not feel too much pressure to sit in on a presentation so we are thinking about it for our next trip. I highly recommend this property for families with small children as well as adult only vacations.

We stayed here for three nights in two-bed rooms and enjoyed our stay. The condition of the rooms was great, and they are quite spacious. The fitness center was quite good with modern equipment. However, in order to enjoy this place, one needs to have a car. Nothing is within walking distance (except the beach). Also, this vacation club does not have any restaurants. It could have been better if there were more social activities such as free wine tasting. We enjoyed hiking at Sea Pine Forest Preserve, which I strongly recommend if you stay here. We encountered small alligators there!

This was our first trip to Surfwatch. The villas are set up well. The staff is very friendly. The beach is over a boardwalk, if the walk is too much for you, they have a shuttle service. We are in a 2 bedroom villa with a great view of the ocean. Like all Marriott villas, the kitchen has everything you need if you want to eat in the room.

This is our home away from home! We own a week, but try to stay here whenever we can! The staff is just wonderful, especially those at the pool near the beach. The food at Sea Salts is wonderful when you don’t want to go back to tour room during a beach/pool day. Personally, I’d love to be able to build a foundation with a garage and basement at home, and put the 3 bedroom floor plan on top of it as the main living area. It is the PERFECT condo floor plan, and the master bath is outstanding!! It might sound strange to look forward to using the shower, but once you experience it, nothing else compares.
