Tongbei Homestay (Saint Sophia Cathedral Harbin Railway Station)

I found the hotel entrance a bit uncomfortable for going up and down the stairs. There's no place to sit at the reception. However, the girl who works there was kind and polite. They ask for a 200-yuan deposit when you check in, which is refunded after you check out and they have cleaned the room. But for someone who's just there to sleep and rest, the room isn't so bad. And at night i feel a strong. At night, there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke, which made it a bit hard to sleep.

Cute little stay, great for all the necessities. Nice little shower area as well. Some cons: - Mattress had a big yellow stain around the pillow area but the bedding covers it so 🤷♂️ - Drain the shower is a bit slow, not sure if clogged - Ventilation in bathroom is not powerful enough so gotta leave the bathroom open overnight to air it out Some pros: - Lovely curtains, nice big window - Bidet! - Light switches, shower switches, mirrors - honestly a bit high tech for what I was expecting 5/5 would stay again if I was visiting Harbin again!

The name of the hostel is quite difficult to find. I was right in front of the door but I'm not sure if it's the right hostel I had booked. The room is clean but the hostel doesn't clean your room every day while staying.

Hotel was walking distance to Harbin Train station (For trip to Yabulixi Satation), as we have luggage, we took Didi ride below RMB10.00 only. Walking distance to Saint Sophia's Church, underground shopping (for last minutes winter wear at cheap price) and central shopping street (there is a nice spring roll restaurant). Staff were helpful, but dislike the service counter and rooms are at second level without lift / elevator, especially with heavy luggage. Using Baidu map and Didi ride, the hotel is at opposite side of the destination.
