Mudong Youth Hostel (Harbin Central Street Branch)

Really great considering it was Chinese new year and the whole city was packed with people. This was a good central place to stay. The owner and managers are very helpful, even when you don't speak much Chinese.

Just few minutes walk to Zhongyang. It's located inside the mall so it's really lively inside. People outside passing by are curious what's inside this hostel since it's beside the cinema lol. Staffs are very accommodating and friendly!! They can provide everything you need.

This hostel is in superb location on central street, easy to find and near subway and other public transportation, the room was clean and staff were friendly

I had an amazing stay at this hostel. All the staff were very forthcoming with all of my questions and even helped me in sending away a package. The public area and the room (including bathroom) were very hygienic and the cleaning lady passed by each morning. There is also enough space for luggages, backpacks etc. The washing and drying machines also worked perfectly. Although i didnt use it, but technically there is also fridges to buy drinks and go buy instant noodles. Very thought through hostel, i enjoyed it to the fullest :) (important to note for european visitors to harbin: prepare a charging adaptor, because in harbin mostly the outlet as depicted in the photo are used. But even if u dont have it dont worry! There are powerbank stations available in the hostel!) Overall a great stay! 🍀

Location: The hostel is located within Central Street. If you hail for a ride using Didi, the driver can drop you off very near the hostel. Please take note that the hostel is located on the 4th floor of a small shopping mall, which makes it really convenient. On the first floor of the building, there is a Chinese buffet and it only costs CNY 29 for a meal. There is also a Russian specialty and souvenir store so you don't need to go far to buy souvenirs from Harbin. I am very happy with my stay. The dormitory rooms were clean. The beds here is better than the other hostels that I have stayed here in China. Most of the hostels that I have stayed to have very thin mattresses but this hostel use firm spring mattresses. Cleanliness: Very clean. I mean, the cleaning ladies clean the rooms, dispose of the trash every morning. Service: The staff were very patient. Some of the staff speaks English. You can feel that the staff are working very hard because when the supply of water was cut for a short time (probably because of the cold weather), you can see the staff informing almost everyone about the water service disruption. As a foreigner, the male staff also informed me. The female staff speaks English. They helped me receive a package ordered from an online store. Facilities: I love the coffee shop in the common area. They also have washing machines and clothes driers. They also have common powder room to dry hair and to apply makeup. On the other hand, I have a funny experience as well. I think I heard a young woman screaming for help at around 12 am when I was exploring the hostel if there were other shower rooms because I know that the private toilets/showers are not entirely sound proof. Will stay at this hostel again? A BIG YES. Suggestions? I don't remember seeing a full-body mirror. If there isn't a full body mirror, a full body mirror may be needed.

This is one of the coolest hostels I have visited! The location is perfect — steps away from the central tourist street of Harbin. The staff is very helpful and enthusiastic. The amenities are all clean, new, and comfortable. I hope to stay again! 谢谢你！
