Excellent hotel overall. Great location and friendly staff and great grounds/view. The experience there could be dramatically improved with just two small changes: 1. Poolside service - as it is, you have to get your own food and drink. Adding an app or call system would be awesome. A pool waiter/waitress would be amazing. 2. Better mattresses. They felt quite hard, like a budget mattress not appropriate to a nice hotel.

We absolutely loved staying at DoubleTree by Hilton in the Azores. The hotel, and the rooms, were extremely clean and well taken care of. The staff is super efficient and kind making you feel welcome all the time and worried about your every need. Breakfast was amazing, with great quality and variety. The location of the hotel is perfect for people who wish to get to know the island with easy access to every point you might want to visit. It has free and easy parking right at the door. The indoor pool, sauna and turkish bath are something to die for, definitely worth the visit. Honestly, it was just the best experience and I highly recommend satying at the hotel.

Los apartamentos son grandes muy completos. Se dividen en cocina, con sala abierta, baño y dormitorio. La cocina tienen microondas, tostadora y demás electrodomésticos, incluso lavavajillas. El dormitorio esta bien, y la cama es genial. Baño perfecto, uno de los apartamentos lo tiene adaptado el número 3. Buena salita y sofa. El entorno es perfecto, hay piscina y restaurante. En el restaurante no se puede desayunar, pero hay un continente a 3 minutos en coche. Hay parking gratuito. La zona de piscina bonita y tranquila. Esta a 3 minutos de la carretera principal. Ferdinando es muy amable. El restaurante es acogedor, buen balado y vino local blanco espectacular. Muy recomendable. Por poner un pero, mejoraría la limpieza un poco más. Volvería 100%

Wonderful place. Gorgeous huge rooms with fabulous views of ocean and nearby church. Kind and helpful staff from front desk to housekeeping. We arrived at 8 am as had early flight in. They directed us to breakfast and had a room available immediately after. Very thoughtful. The breakfast was wonderful. Eggs Benedict, eggs royal, fresh fruit, wonderful breads, cheese , ham, smoothies etc. OMG the chocolate croissants and portuguese tarts hot from oven! Great coffee. So many choices! The dinners were probably best on the island. Food was reasonable in price and well presented. Steak was very tender, seafood fresh and light. Not a fault from beginning to end of stay. Area quiet and safe. Variety store a few minutes away with wine and snacks for sale. One of the customers there sang a Fado song for me. This hotel is a great place for couples. I think a bit too quiet for families. Reasonable drives to all attractions. Look no further

GGusNSUn hotel davvero meraviglioso. Con solo 9 camere, il personale si concentra su rendere eccezionale ogni esperienza degli ospiti. La posizione è grande, centrale abbastanza per esplorare l'isola e tornare ogni giorno. Durante la vista da e quando esce, la vostra stanza prenderà il respiro ogni volta. Tutti gli alloggi sono di alta qualità, il letto era molto comodo e anche le lavande e gli asciugamani avevano un senso di ricchezza. Le opzioni per la colazione possono essere leggermente redditizie, ma la qualità e la freschezza degli ingredienti, insieme alla lama e al succo domestici, nonché la flessibilità per cambiare le cose sul menu, più che compiere per questo. Anche noi il ristorante dell'hotel è eccellente per cena. Così tanto che abbiamo finito di default di esso più di una volta durante il nostro soggiorno. Abbiamo anche apprezzato i dettagli come il telefono che hanno fornito al check-in che ci ha seguito ovunque sull'isola per seguire le proposte e le prenotazioni momentanee attraverso l'hotel! In tutto, molto raccomandato, mia moglie e io sappiamo che torneremo!

UUtente ospiteI just returned from a three night stay at this hotel with my girlfriend and our teenage daughter. We have been countless times in S. Miguel as we consider it such a pleasant and beautiful island. This time we opted for a hotel outside the main towns and in fact we managed to do just that. At the same time it is only 20 minutes away from the airport and 15 minutes away from Ponta Delgada or Ribeira Grande, the two main towns. We already visited the nine islands of the Azores archipelago and always get a rental car at the airport (exception at Corvo Island). If you are staying in this hotel, it is paramount that you do the same. As to the hotel itself, we booked it only four weeks in advance on high season, thus we had to pay the full rate of the stay at that moment. Upon check-in on room 206, we were given two identical cards without any distinctive element, one to open the door and the other to insert into the slot for lightening. That is odd, generally, hotels give two identical keys to open the door and one of them, if necessary can be left on the slot when we are out. We were assigned a spacious accommodation with living room, bedroom and bathroom. We did not have sea view and the living room had lots of glass walls overlooking the adjacent condo. All those glasses made it very hot on the sun shining days and we had to keep the AC on during the day. The décor of the room was unstylish and lacking attention to details. The bedroom had a big closet but no clothes rail or hangers. Besides that, one of the doors of the closet could not be opened fully, because it bumped into the shelves that are installed as bedside tables. The safe was old style, that is to say, it closes with a key that we had to ask for at the reception at no charge, along with a cumbersome key ring that we had to take with us whenever we were out of the room. The living room had a well equipped kitchen, that we did not use but it was constantly patrolled by half a dozen ants. We had bought previously some good looking fruits and had to fill a big dish with water and in the middle of it we put a small dish with our fruit so that the ants weren’t able to cross the water in order to get to fruit island. The bathroom was very spacious and pleasant looking even if the washbasin was more stylish than efficient. This room lacked tremendously of a place to put one´s belongings (toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, electrical razor and so on). Amazingly no one foresaw the installation of a shelf. The social areas of the hotel such as the lobby are, again, unstylish, corridors have shabby carpeting. The room where breakfast is served has a view to an outside wall and lacks natural lightening. Breakfast itself has a reasonable variety of items, but by no means is it worth 12 euro per person per day, that in our case we were asked to paid in advance, precisely at the same moment we made the reservation.
