Hilton Guatemala City

Overall the hotel experience was pleasant. Sometimes, it was difficult to explain to hotel staff what we needed but overall, a nice property. The location is a little further out of the city.

房間很寬敞，環境也很雅緻，不過離市區稍微有點遠，工作日打車會比較堵。

We had a lovely stay in a colonial-styled hotel. The hotel was very clean and well maintained. It was located slightly outside the city centre and might take about 30min by uber to get into the city, depending on traffic conditions. One disadvantage was the lack of shops, restaurants and amenities within walking distance. As Hilton members, we appreciated the significant room upgrade and daily breakfast. We observed a much larger breakfast selection on Sundays and on days where an event/conference was ongoing. The lounge was opened only on weekdays for a brief 6-8pm where a light selection of canapés and alcohol were offered. Staff members were all hardworking and friendly. Housekeeping also kept our room cleaned well.

I've been a loyal customer, staying at this hotel on average twice a year for the past 25 years. Yes, that includes the period prior to the hotel being a Hilton. The last time I stayed I had an issue with the reception desk, but now it was worse. Turns out that I was "upgraded" to a Jr. Suite, something I didn't want because most of the upgraded rooms face the loud highway. I explained that I preferred a garden facing room regardless of the upgrade, but they couldn't accommodate me because they had no availability of those rooms. So, I accepted the upgrade, but because the room wasn't ready, I left telling the front desk that I would be back later that night. I came back close to 9:00pm to find that indeed my room was facing the highway, but then the surprise...the room had no windows! Oh yes, there was glass where windows were supposed to be, but they were frosted or white. Needless to say, you couldn't see out and it felt like a cave! Well, it was late so I decide to go to sleep and deal with it in the morning. Morning came, I went to the front desk and told them how unhappy I was and that the room was unacceptable and that I wanted to leave given that they couldn't accommodate my request. Well, to my surprise they were going to charge me the penalty for checking out early. I explained that it was not my fault, that they should check with the manager. They then offered a room next to the elevator which I declined. Explaining that it was okay if they had no availability, and that I would just leave. No issue, those things happen and I would be back another time. I went back to the room to gather my bags came back to the front desk to check out and yes, the manager had said NO to my request to not charge the penalty so I had to pay the $25 plus tax. What a stupid move by the hotel, after 25 years, they had lost a client for $25. Amazing! Of course I will never stay at the hotel ever again and will do what I can to tell everyone my story.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 days and here is what we experienced… We were surprised by how outdated the rooms were. Do not use any taxi services provided by the hotel staff- taxis will charge you $15 USD for each person to and from your destination. Use Uber- an Uber ride around in Guatemala City will be around US $5-$14 USD and an Uber ride to Antigua, Guatemala will run you $24-$36 each way. There was no refrigerator or microwave in the room. Breakfast is not complementary- it’s $50 USD The room- the pillows were really flat and old- not good for someone with back problems. On top of that the shower and bathtub were all in one. The one thing I can appreciate is how nice and welcoming everyone was.

The hotel style is reminiscent of old Spanish colonial architecture, rich in flora, and fits well with the ecological landscape of Guatemala. The rooms are well appointed, spacious and comfortable. Conference rooms are large and facilitate presentations using various information technologies and good audio acoustics. Hotel cuisine well represents national gastronomy, and staff are all pleasant and professional.

The team here took such good care of me. I called ahead to have them pick me up from the airport and it was such a relief/good feeling after landing late at night in a new city to see Marco Tulio holding a Hilton sign with my name ready to take me to the hotel. You all were fantastic. The room was large and comfortable and the meals were good.

We had a wonderful experience! Unfortunately, we were only there for 1 night. Vey safe and secure property! Maria at checkin was wonderful and went out of her way for a need we had! She speaks great English as well! From the bellmen to the door man everyone was spot on welcoming and always asking if we needed anything! We had room service one night and breakfast buffet in the morning! Breakfast buffet is not to miss..fresh juices and fruit, eggs cooked to order and just enough away from the city so that a garden room is vey quiet!
