The Fårsunds fästning is an excellent option if you wish to visit the north of Gotland (Fårö) and at the same time get a piece of interesting Swedish history. The rooms are all in heavy concrete (and really cool) but at the same time cosy and offer all you need in terms of comfort and equipment. The resto offers tasty lamb from the region and the breakfast offers a variety goodies (although the berries were a bit too cold). Well worth a visit!

Converted from an old military fortress into a hotel this is a very cool place. They have kept some of the old unique walls which is great. The restaurant is fantastic. We had Moules et frites and local lamb sausages, both were outstanding. Breakfast is included and very fresh. Sauna and pool nice but could've been cleaned better. The window is towards the hallway and hotel and not to the outside. Blinds were not good and windows single glazed so it was both noisy in the room and not completely darker out. Could even see in/out in some spots. Dehumidifier in bathroom could be turned off but the ventilation in the bathroom could not be and it was very noisy. Beds too soft. Another strange thing is that they lock the place up between 11am and 3pm so you cannot evwn get in to use the toilet while you wait for your room. Staff friendly and helpful. WIFI very good which was needed as phone reception patchy

I had on purpose asked for a room within the old stone wall but had not realized this meant it had no window to the outside nor that a very noisy humidifier had to be on 24/7. The door and side partitions into the room were glass (the rest stone wall) and even when pulling all the shades I could see out into the corridor from the bed, which logically meant there was the same visibility in. The location is very nice at it was relaxing to take an evening stroll along the shore. Due to the end of season a set menu was served for dinner and it was very tasty and clearly made with a lot of attention. The breakfast was very yummy and it was a great start to the day to sit out on their nice deck and sip a cup of coffee. Staff were very nice and helpful throughout.

Auf der Suche nach einem Abendessen fanden wir dieses außergewöhnliche Restaurant, dass nur auf wenige Gäste ausgelegt ist. Die Speisekarte umfasst ca 8 Gerichte plus Desserts und wir entschieden uns alle 5 für den Burger, um den Koch in der kleinen Küche nicht zu überfordern. Der Service war freundlich und aufmerksam. Unser Essen kam nach einer angemessenen Wartezeit und war köstlich. Die Buns leicht geröstet, das Patty saftig und medium gebraten. Abgerundet mit frischem Salat und einer selbst gemachten Burgercreme, die genau die richtige Schärfe hatte, dazu knusprige Fritten. Alles zusammen den erst einmal im Vergleich zu anderen Restaurants höheren Preis wert. Ein Genuss für Burgerliebhaber!

Så mysigt hotell i en helt unik miljö! Trevlig och personlig service och inredningen både inne och ute var supersnygg!
Det enda som var lite synd var att de inte hade en restaurang som var öppen off-season men vi är väldigt nöjda ändå!

Väldigt tillmötesgående personal som tog emot oss på hotellet . Rummet var modernt och bekvämt . Maten var god men utan finess . Restaurangen skulle vinna på att serveringspersonalen skulle vara mer uppmärksamma på sina gäster .

Vilken fantastisk personal och fint välkomnande av hon i receptionen. Kände mig riktigt välkommen och att det inte va några problem att fråga om hjälp eller tips. Menyn på kvällen va inte så stor men maten va otroligt god och fint upplagd.
Hotellet i sig var en upplevelse, vilket ställe!

Hotellet är väl värt ett besök. En annorlunda upplevelse att bo i den fina rummen med stenväggar. Tyvärr var servicen i restaurangen en besvikelse då rätterna till alla fyra vid bordet serverades i två omgångar. Två rätter serverades först och därefter tog det 10 minuter innan de andra två i sällskapet fick sina rätter. I övrigt trevligt bemötande i receptionen som berättar om anläggningen och visar till rummen. Bortsett från middagen var vi mycket nöjda med vår vistelse.
