The room we had was stunning, just like the pictures, the furnishing and decor of the place is excellent. Good location too, staff were polite and friendly and the breakfast was nice as well. Didn’t use the massage facilities so can’t comment on that.

We were impressed with the elegant decor, less so with the small basement bedroom and the tiny shower room. I'm 5'6" and my head touched the opposite wall when sitting on the lavatory. Some of the room fittings were faulty. Front of house was a very friendly, helpful young man, until I asked for a croissant at breakfast. He went through to the adjacent kitchen and berated me to the kitchen staff. I could hear every word of his bad use, he showed his true colours and revealed the lack of class behind the fancy facade. He said in a previous review,of me, he gave his apologies for "not matching my aesthetic". Quite condescending I think.

We have so many wonderful thoughts about this stay! The location is safe and convenient in the West End of Glasgow, with many restaurants, museums, transportation. It is near the university, Kelvingrove museum and the botanical gardens. The rooms are spacious and elegantly presented. The lighting is amazing. The staff are very helpful and gracious. The breakfasts were amazing, with freshly baked pastries, a diverse menu to meet all needs, coffee and sweet treats always out. Please note that dinner reservations in this upscale area are always advisable.

Our stay in the Alamo Guest House was wonderful. We stayed in the Harris room. The guest house is located in a lovely and very quiet neighborhood just a few minutes from the Kelvingrove Museum. The breakfast room and lounge are beautiful and stocked with delicious treats and a nespresso machine. Breakfast was the best we had in Scotland. Totally fresh including freshly baked croissants or pain au chocolat. The staff were very helpful with suggestions, and there are tons of great restaurants nearby. The room was also stocked with coffee and biscuits. The shower was hot with good water pressure, and the room was completely quiet at night. We had a wonderful time in Glasgow and couldn’t have stayed anywhere better. We highly recommend the Alamo Guest House for your next trip to Scotland.

I just loved this guest house from the moment I was greeted at the door to the warm goodbye - I did not want to leave. I liked the quiet setting close walk to much of the city. Breakfast was delicious and plenty. Coffee and chocolate biscuits 24/7 was a nice touch in the dining/sitting room. I started my visit with a massage that set the relaxing mood for me. Jennifer was a gracious, helpful member of the expert staff that greeted me each morning setting the stage for a great day. I felt pampered and cared for. My bed was the best with a fluffy comforter, plenty of pillows, beautiful bath area. I look forward to returning and suggesting it to others.

Wonderful relaxed accommodation, super clean, great bedding and comfy beds, amazing breakfasts. The cherry on the cake is the amazing welcoming staff, friendly, great local knowledge and fab recommendations. Highly recommend and will definitely return back. Thank you for the perfect stay.

The staff at Alamo House were very accommodating. When we arrived, I found out I made an error with the reservation dates The staff arranged for us to be rebooked for the correct nights and were exceptionally compassionate and understanding. Location was ideal and the House is restored to perfection. Tasty breakfast and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

This lodge is so interesting - with fabulous architecture and furnishings. The staff was very helpful. The breakfast was plentiful. The location was great. Only complaint - the quirky location of rooms right off "lobby". There is SO much to do in and arround Glasgow. We were there for 4 nights and had no problem filling them.

Probably one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. I booked a relatively simple room with a king-size bed, and it had everything I needed. I get really cold at night, and the fluffy, heavy comforter kept me perfectly comfortable. Loved the large tea kettle and array of tea choices in the room as well. I live in a loud city, so staying at the Alamo was as peaceful as it gets -- its parkside location is near tons of restaurants and nightlife, but once you're in the hotel, it's very quiet and serene. The staff are stupendous, too. Everyone is super kind and helpful. Finally, the included breakfast is delicious, full of a la carte options, and hearty. Speaking of breakfast, one of the employees offered to leave a croissant and takeaway coffee for me in the kitchen before my Uber picked me up in the AM since it would be before their usual breakfast service starts. A++++
