Residence Inn Memphis Germantown

First, I will say that all staff members that we interacted with were great - friendly and helpful. That said, this hotel, or as least our room, was in rough shape and badly in need of remodeling. Really everything needs to be updated. The kitchen area, the seating/tables/desk, the bathrooms, the curtains. The bed was fine, comfortable and clean. Marriott needs to step up and remodel this hotel.

We stay exclusively at Residence Inns as we travel with a standard poodle, probably have stayed in around 50 different ones all over the country. This was was really good: if not new, well maintained, wonderful desk woman at check in and saw her next morning with big smile on her face. In a complex with several other Marriott brands with several restaurants nearby. A nice stay here.

Don’t stay here. The hotel is in need of major renovations. Hard to believe that Marriott Bonvoy allows this hotel in their fleet of accommodations. The door to the bedroom was not painted on one side and didn’t close. Actually a good thing because there was no door handle! The caulking in the bathroom looked like a 7 year old did it and there was no drain plug in the bathroom sink. The furniture had to have come from Goodwill as it was torn up. The dishwasher didn’t work and was missing the front panel. The built in cabinets in both kitchen and bathroom were scratched and marked like they were ready to be repainted. The windows had that fog in the pains so the seals were obviously broken. On a good note, the towels and sheets were clean as they smelled of bleach. We would have moved but it was late and pouring down rain. I want my Bonvoy points back!

Great hotel . best place to visit with family. Nice and polite staff at the reception..The rooms are very clean,the food in the restaurant is good for a 5* hotel. It is also close to the beach. In general it was very pleasant stay and definitely recommend this hotel.I felt like at home there and will come back again in future.

Had a very nice stay. The staff is excellent. I don’t like every other day, especially if you don’t leave extra garbage bags, etc. The location was a little further out than I anticipated (it about 5 miles out from what I consider the end of Germantown). The hotel and lobby are both very difficult to identify; it may be in an area where signs are not permitted. The fuse box cover had quite a bit of dripping stains. The freezer made a terrible racket. Big screen TVs were great both in bedroom and in sitting area. I do like the sitting area a lot. The small portable table really augments the space. Would have liked a desk as I’ve seen at other locations. I love the mini salt and pepper shakers. I felt the value was there for the price and would stay again. Overall a very positive and pleasant experience.

This room was $268 a night. I stayed in a 2bedroom 2 bath. I arrived at about 11pm with my small child and husband. The lady at check in was really nice and that’s where is stops. We got in elevator and it smelled of urine and then the elevator stalled and wouldn’t let you out the elevator right away. As we walked down hall, you could see the doors of thr rooms were filthy. Finally got to room and there were cracks in the ceiling area, windows nailed where you couldn’t open or close windows. One window was cracked and it was cold and you couldn’t close it. The furniture was stained and it looked like there was mold around bathroom mirror. The ceiling has a leak and someone tried to repair it but didn’t do a very good job. The carpet was rippling up, mix matched door knobs with improper locks. The mirror closet doors were off track… I contacted front desk and the girl was kind, but couldn’t do anything. I spoke with manager and she said check out is at 12. I had to uproute my family and try to find another hotel last minute to finish our trip. The manager never followed up and even after contacting Marriott, I never heard anything. I might not stay at another Marriott again. This place needs a lot of work completed.
