Friday Harbour Resort

Pleasant lunch. We sometimes grab lunch at Friday Harbour after walking the nearby nature trails. It’s a busy place, especially summer, holidays and weekends. Several dining options. Recommend reservations or be prepared to wait. Lots of parking but not paved.

Friday harbour Resort is the best thing ever happened to Innisfil.beautiful Water Front Apartments and townhouses and beautiful shopping on board walk.tThere are couple fine dine restaurants,A beautiful pastry shop,Coffee shop and dessert shops.There’s always something happening there.I love all the seasonal decorations.I love visiting Friday harbour Resort.

"Empty spaces, what are we living for? Abandoned places, I guess we know the score" Dead, dead, absolutely dead place 300 days a year. Nobody there. You can find more people on cemetery in the middle of the night than here. Local management does close to nothing to attract more people and make this area little bit more populated (in the winter they do skating rink - attract from 3 to 5 people per season). Summer time is way much better!!! More people but the problem with seats in restaurants - everything is booked out for days ahead. Overnight stay at marina is crazy expensive $5 per linear foot + resort taxes. Gas is 20-30% more expensive than in Barrie. Restaurants offer descent food for the price of 5 stars MICHELIN Restaurants. One sushi place in entire resort is closed for good! No business at all. Ice cream business is currently for sale too. Gravel parking is horrible. It creates clouds of dust local residents and guests have to breath with. No entertainment for kids. I can go on and on and on.... One visit is more than enough to see that place.

If you want to be ripped off, this is the place to go. No use of the facilities unless you pay $300 per person. And they have very little in amenties to use. Find another destination such as Airbnb or Verbo but stay clear of this monstrousity.

We stopped into the Friday Harbour resort area this past weekend while on a leisurely drive in the Innisfil area. What a nightmare this place was ! We drove in off the main road and there were cars everywhere and it was so busy it reminded me of going to a fair out in the country with a ton of people and dust everywhere as they have a gravel parking lot for visitors. There were so many people it actually reminded me of being at the CNE this past August. We drove around for 5 min and then promptly left as there was nothing that peaked our interest to stay. I would hate to be a resident that lives in that resort or even a visitor and put up with all the people and noise all the time like what I witnessed. We won't go back even to attempt to go into a restaurant.

My wife and I reserved a Saturday overnight slip and received confirmation that a slip had been assigned. However, the slip was changed prior to arrival by FH but we were not advised by FH either by email or phone. We learnt of the change from another boater. When we arrived by boat and called on Channel 68 repeatedly for about 10 minutes, no one answered. We decided to dock by ourselves even though our large boat makes this difficult. We found out the next day from Julia in the Harbour Master's office that the manager had locked the radio in his office and was away for the weekend so they could not receive or send messages to any boats arriving at the marina. This was surprising because the resort is called 'Friday Harbour' so the assumption is that guidance would be given to arriving/departing boats or in emergency situations. The docks were covered in goose poop and looked like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Again surprising given the slip rate of $5 per foot + 3% resort fee + 13% HST not to mention the health concerns. Considering our good previous experience during the summer using the temporary slips, it appears that FH is now short-staffed and careless with inexperienced personnel. We will consider whether to return next summer.

Went on Labour Day weekend through ABB… Big mistake!! Unless you are a homeowner don’t waste your time and money. On top of your ABB rental you have to pay 20$ a head to use beach which was pathetic. 35$ a head for pool use for 2 hr max and pool was booked all weekend did not get in. Don’t know who you have to know to get a reservation at the restaurants booked all weekend even though we could see empty tables. All we got out of the place was an over priced room to sleep. Reluctantly stayed 1 night and left. DON’T GO AS A RENTER!

Our family has been to Friday Harbor several times but have never stayed over night . This time we decided to stay for 4 days and soak it all in . Rented a place on VRBO -The town house is exactly as the description and the photos . It was perfect for our family of 4 and seconds away from the main boardwalk . It's lovely to walk around , there is live music on the weekends and music playing from some of the outside Patios . Note most restaurants are not open until the weekend , we were disappointed to have not been able to eat at The Avenue ( Italian Restaurant ) as it only opens on Thursday night , Also you will need reservations for FishBone . Thankfully there is a lovely Fine Food Store on the ***** which offers literally everything and anything you need to make a meal . The kids spent some time at the beach , be sure to bring water shoes , as there is Zebra Mussel shells everywhere in the water and they can cut open the bottom of feet pretty badly . Definitely use the hiking trails . Its a lovely way to spend a few hours . I don't golf but they have a pretty nice golf course at Friday Harbor. As well as Jet Skis, Kayaks, canoes and paddle boards for rent . Also Fat Tire bikes for hitting those trails I mentioned . In short there is something for everyone and you won't be bored .

Visited Friday Harbor in 2019, and was planning to go again in 2023. We liked the place in 2019 as it had an OK beach where my wife could paddle board. Our AirBNB was beautiful and had underground parking and a common roof top area. I want to book a place in 2023 and found no amenities are now included in the rental. Simply going to the beach at the resort is $20 per person per day. Needless to say, we will not be going back. Obviously FH does not want visitors, or their owners to make money from their properties.
