Hotel 5 stelle, molto sfarzoso, spazi estremamente ampi, apparenza molto lussuosa. Enorme reception. Personale molto attento e disponibile. Colazione e buffet cena molto ricche e di ottima qualità. Qui però finiscono le note positive. Le camere e le finiture sono “datate”. Nella nostra camera c’era odore di umidità / muffa, me la sono fatta cambiare. Nella tenda c’era uno squarcio. Sopra il quadro pure. La doccia aveva il pomello che si staccava. Il divanetto della colazione era macchiato. La tappezzeria delle parti comuni piuttosto sporche e usurate. Insomma, nonostante i punti positivi elencati sopra, per un 5 stelle, queste sono a mio avviso mancanze inaccettabili per gli standard europei, anche vero che siamo in Sri Lanka, bisogna calarsi in una realtà dove tutto assume una connotazione differente.

Our journey to Kandy was a long-waited family trip for few months. All were busy with their agendas and waiting to take a break. This time we selected Theva Residency, it was a perfect choice!!! An ideal location up in the mountains with an amazing view throughout the day. The uniqueness was you are able to enjoy the mountain view from your room, pool and the restaurant. The staff were exceptionally hospitable, and they always look for opportunities to anticipate our needs and exceed those. Food was excellent. A great location for Equilibrium and a fun filled holiday experience. We will definitely be back. Suranga, Tharanga , Thaviru and Vihansie

Nice place, clean, very helpful and service minded staff and a nice rooftop pool. Breakfast was tasty and quite large, perfect before a train trip to Ella. Only minus was that the AC was acting a but strange, and the room had no windows facing outside. So the night time was hot, and it was a bit difficult to sleep well. Might have been bad luck.

Our room was a long way from the main hub, up and down irregular steps, some 103 steps in total. Trying to find our way to the restaurant and watch our footing after dark was difficult. Even a member of staff had trouble helping us find the way. On entering the restaurant we were greeted with a blue haze of smoke as an indoor wok station had been set up for stirfry dishes of choice to be prepared on an individual basis. Although very tasty having to wait in line and suffer the smoke was unacceptable. A very surly man was in charge of the restaurant and we resented him telling us what we should or shouldn’t eat. He was so rude. Our room was lovely, enormous infact with a second bedroom but the view was poor and overlooked concrete and pipework rather than the lovely views from the main hub. The complex had been built into the rocks which meant we had a huge rock in our room. A bit bizzare but fun. The shower lacked any shelves and there was no door on the shower so the floor flooded. Overall we thought the complex was pretentious and many visitors would struggle with the location and number of steps to the room we had. Fortunately we are walkers and reasonably fit and agile. The lads who carried our suitcases to and from the room worked hard for their tips.
