Hickman Hill Hotel

Hickman has the perfect mix of being a family-run and boutique hotel. Open fires, amazing food both at breakfast and in the evening. I visited with my mum due to visiting the area for a family funeral. It was a very restorative place with the softness and most comfortable beds I’ve ever experienced! Great bathrooms too. Highly recommend.

First class hotel. Sll staff very friendly and helpful. The room is rally nice, with a fridge containing 2 bottles of water and a small bottle of fresh orange and fresh milk. Lovely view into the garden where deer were roaming. Great toiletries in the bathroom. There is only 1 issue for me, and it's more of a personal one, I don't like wooded flooring. The one thing that stood out the most was the food. Simply stunning. Everything cooked to perfection.

I have stayed here twice now whilst in Gainsborough for work. This hotel is a real find, very welcoming, very comfortable, very handy for the town centre and, most importantly of all, a really warm welcome and friendly hosts. I can't fault this place at all and the food is excellent. There is off street, free parking as well, which is a bonus I couldn't recommend the Hickman Hill Hotel highly enough

On visiting family in the area I stayed at this fabulous hotel set in beautiful grounds.Formerly a boarding school where all the rooms are named after the school teachers in that time...I stayed in the Bill Confrey room. Very spacious with a view over the grounds and car park A large bathroom with a bath and a walk in shower plus a very large vanity basin.. Excellent toiletries and a heated towel rail to dry the large bath towels..Plenty of drawer space but, no wardrobe instead there were coat hooks on the wall with plenty of hangers.A very comfortable and warm room plus a good bed . On the ground floor was the bar and dining room which served breakfast..Unfortunately the week I was there the dining room was closed in the evening as the chief was away… So I didn’t get to sample the evening meals…Never the less I did enjoy what I had. Awesome staff who will help you up and down the stairs with your suitcase/s as there is no lift. An easy walk to Gainsborough shops and Marshall’s Yard which houses many shops and restaurants/cafes. Overall a truly delightful small hotel with a family atmosphere that I would have no hesitation in staying there again…

A very comfortable stylish hotel, set in a pretty garden. The room was large, immaculate and well equipped - really good bed, generous tea /coffee making facilities, hairdryer, iron, bathrobes and ensuite shower room. Breakfast was excellent, and the menu for the night we arrived made us regret that we had earlier had a substantial family lunch and could only manage the small starter portions suggested, which were delicious. Bar prices were not inflated and we certainly enjoyed the beer on offer. Just sorry that we had booked in for only one night to break up a trip home.

We were there Friday and Saturday night. Room was comfortable and quiet, with good facilities. Amazing front of house, and our host Daniel made it an incredible stay. Would return again. Definitely a great place to stay if you are in the area.
