Very good hotel

Ich habe leider nur 1 Nacht in diesem wunderschönem Hotel übernachten können. Die Lage ist oben aufm Berg, ohne Auto problematisch. Ich hatte eins 😬 Zimmerausstattung Raumverteilung Terrasse Ausblick überragend. Badezimmer etwas klein aber völlig ausreichend. Pool sehr sauber Sauna wunderbar und bis Mitternacht geöffnet. Terrasse oben sehr groß und wunderschöner Ausblick. Personal Rezeption waren sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Ich bin sehr zufrieden und würde es jedem weiter empfehlen.

L’ubicazione dell’hotel (ai margini di Friburgo, proprio dove inizia la Foresta Nera, 45 min a piedi per arrivare in centro, taxi 15€) è sia un pregio che un difetto. Pregio per il magnifico panorama su Friburgo che si gode dalle camere, per la tranquillità e soprattutto per i bellissimi percorsi nella Foresta Nera, facili da percorrere, che partono proprio dall’hotel. Essere ai margini della città è però anche un difetto, perché si è obbligati a fare colazione in hotel ad un costo elevato (19€ a testa), a mio avviso non commisurato con la qualità della stessa (in un ambiente peraltro troppo affettato e retrò per i miei gusti). Carina la spa - compresa nel costo dell’hotel - con piccola piscina coperta, terrazza con lettini e una sauna.

Sono stato in questo hotel purtroppo solo per un giorno perché ero di passaggio a FRIBURGO con la mia famiglia. Sono stato ben consigliato da un mio amico che era già stato in questa struttura diverse volte con la sua famiglia. L’hotel è posizionato sopra la città a soli 5 minuti d’auto dal centro ma penso che ci sia un bus per raggiungere appunto il centro città. Comunque se non ci si volesse spostare con la propria auto, i taxi in Germania sono economici. A Friburgo c’è possibilità di parcheggiare ovunque sia in strada (parcometri a prezzi onesti attivi dalle 9 alle 19) che nei parcheggi sotterranei. Il trasporto cittadino è ottimo grazie agli innnumerevoli tram che passano continuamente. L’hotel è super confortevole. Le stanze grandi e pulite. Letti comodissimi. Wi-fi gratuita. In TV ai canali 50-51-52 si possono vedere RAI 1, 2 e 3. Giorno e notte il silenzio la fa da padrone! In gnocstanza c’è un balcone con vista su FRIBURGO con poltrona e lettino per prendere il sole. A disposizione degli ospiti nell’armadio ci sono gli accappatoi per andare in piscina. Ci sono anche le ciabatte ma sono da camera e non da piscina quindi consiglio di portarsi dietro quelle da mare e naturalmente il costume! La piscina e la sauna sono gratis ed aperte fino a mezzanotte. Sui lettini della piscina e del balcone che da verso FRIBURGO con un panorama mozzafiato ci sono gli asciugamani grandi quindi non c’è bisogno di portarsi dietro dalla camera. L’aria condizionata in camera è perfetta e silenziosa. Ci sono due cuscini per ogni ospite ed i letti sono molto confortevoli. C’è la cassaforte in camera. Il personale è gentilissimo è sempre disponibile a soddisfare qualsiasi richiesta della clientela. Non abbiamo usufruito della colazione dell’hotel perché eravamo di fretta ed allora siamo passati in centro al KOLBEN KAFFEE dove ci sono i cornetti ed il cappuccino più buoni di Friburgo. Infatti c’è una barista italiana molto brava che non ha nulla da invidiare ai suoi colleghi dei bar italiani! Consiglio questo hotel a chiunque: sia chi passi a Friburgo per vacanza o per lavoro. La città poi val la pena di visitarla! 2 giorni sono sufficienti.

*BEWARE BEDBUGS* We are finally far away from the Mercure Hotel after a long night of back and forth with the unfortunately ill equipped ‘student’ staff maning the front desk. We were supposed to have stayed two night here however upon a couple hours after midnight of our second night we noticed small blood stains on the sheets of the bed and quickly began to look closer and yup our worst nightmare confirmed, bedbugs. We had experienced small rashes from the previous night but didn’t think it was anything major and didn’t notice until the next night. However this nightmare was just the beginning. What ensued after was a call to the front desk where the on-call night staff came quickly to investigate the room. Two students covering the entire hotel in the night. We expressed our concern to cancel tonight’s booking so we could get out of the room. No bedbug policy was mentioned by the two, they really had no idea what to do except for offer us another room. They said nothing about informing and evacuating the rooms adjacent to room 503! I then asked for the manager, however they said the manager was not available until 7am and we could have another room until then. How is it possible that there is no one who can resolve a critical situation such as this, no manager, no mecure manager, no Accor manager? To the manager of this hotel: how can you leave the hotel in the hands of these students at night with no proper training on common high risk scenarios? Or no back up contact. I’ll spare the agonizing details of the back and forth between these students on simple questions that they should be aware of in a 4-star hotel (e.g. what is your policy in this situation, not being able to cancel the nights stay and previous night for all the rash bites and physical pain resulting). This is for the manager, please we would like to speak with you once you are in the office, and will be patiently waiting as we slowly painstakingly inspect all of belongs to ensure we do not bring these nasty pests home with us. To anyone thinking about staying at this hotel, be warned as this could be you!

We went on a Monday for dinner and expected it to be a slow night. WRONG. Place was lively and we felt lucky to get a table. I had a very good piece of salmon with some asian inspired vegetables and noodles. My husband also shared a delicious wedge salad. We were just driving through; staying in a hotel near the highway. the real deal; this place was just minutes from the hotel and highly recommended....in the midst of mediocre chain restaurants.

The hotel is at just a 10-minute drive from the city center of Freiburg and the location is really nice. The view is spectacular and the hotel is well maintained. Unfortunately, the staff is totally incompetent when dealing with customers, and in some cases they even turned out to be unprofessional and disrespectful. Indeed, during our breakfast we happened to be treated rudely by an employee (whose name is Tamta) who responded to us in a very aggressive manner by making a snarky comment about our order, thus embarrassing greatly all the people at the table. Very nice location but the incompetence of the staff could only be suitable for a two-star hotel. We will definitely not go back there and considering the prices I do not recommend it.

My husband and I stayed here during our stay in Freiberg. The hotel's location is very nice among the trees with a great view of the old town below. There were many narrow streets on the way up to the hotel, but it's sparsely populated up there so it wasn't a problem. We mostly came across hikers. The hotel staff was welcoming and the room was comfortable. The hotel could do with a bit of an update as it felt a little stale in design. It may have felt that way because the night before we had stayed in a hotel that was less than two years old. There were some trails nearby that we took advantage of with our dog. I wish we had stayed more than one night to truly enjoy the area.

This is a lovely, comfortable, and extremely quiet hotel on a hill on the outskirts of Freiburg. Both the elevation, the absence of sidewalks, and the distance mean you cannot practically speaking walk to town from the hotel -- but you can get there easily by car or, I suppose, mountain bike if you're a truly athletic type. And yet it's a lovely choice for those who want access both to Freiburg and also to the Black Forest. It was EXTREMELY quiet, in the best way -- the rooms next to mine were occupied, but I could not hear a single running faucet, television show, or conversation. I only knew I had neighbors when we stepped onto our adjoining balconies at the same time. The view over the city is beautiful. I woke up every morning to the sound of birdsong -- and there are a LOT of birds in the surrounding woods. I didn't have the breakfast, but based on a truly marvelous bowl of soup I had one night when I returned to the hotel hungry, I would guess the restaurant is wonderful.

My wife and I recently spent four nights at the Mercure Hotel Panorama in Freiburg-im-Breisgau, using it as base for visiting the Christmas markets in the area. It was a wonderful hotel, centrally located for touring France, Germany and Switzerland. From check-in until departure, our experience was excellent in all regards. Tobias at check-in was friendly, helpful and efficient. The rooms, while not huge, are certainly spacious enough and well-appointed, and the bed was most comfortable. The hotel also boasts an indoor pool and sauna. I must also give kudos to Edward who, after I took a spill on some ice in the wee hours, was quick to render assistance, make sure I was okay, and got me back to my room. Thanks! The Mercure Hotel Panorama also boasts an excellent restaurant, Chez Eric, to be covered in a separate review. It gets an honorable mention in the Michelin guide, and that is justly deserved. We ate several meals there, and the food and service are top-notch. Did I mention that the hotel is pet-friendly? Our puppy was warmly received. When we head back in that direction, we will definitely book a room at the Mercure Hotel Panorama.

The hotel is good. It's near good eating places. The staff is helpful. Our room has a great view and was big. The only problem was that we had to use the room key card to use the lift ( pass code would have been easier) I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel is very traditional in layout and decor but has a simply amazing view across Freiburg. It’s located a 5 minute drive from the town in a quiet wooded area. It’s simply perfect to relax and enjoy nature and the wonderful views. The reception staff are friendly and professional. The pool and sun decks are lovely and not too crowded even in August There are some issues which need addressing through - there is no acknowledgment of Accor Platinum status at all other than the standard drink voucher - we welcomed the free bottle of water in the room (only one was given during our stay of three days) but we asked to change the sparkling bottle given for a still one. This was apparently impossible for either the room staff or the reception - the restaurant is excellent but the menu doesn’t change ever - the breakfast at €19 is on the expensive side for the Accor group and whilst it is nice to have a glass of Sekt in the morning it’s incredible to be charged extra for a simple omelette or fresh orange juice. There is no change at all in the breakfast buffet each day and so it gets very monotonous particularly since most of it is charcuterie. There was little choice for vegetarians in the hot food - the same scrambled egg and fried potatoes every day. This could and should be changed easily If these issues are resolved we would love to come back. It is a great hotel and I would highly recommend it
