Oltrarno 1881 Apartments

Everything was good at the beginning. Place was good, location was good. Then, some creatures came in to the house from bath. We try to cover for first two days but their numbers increased day by day. You need to think twice before you stay in this house

Nice themed apartments, well equipped kitchen, and good location. Stayed in the Writer Room. Nice furnishings, however, there are some issues I will address. 1. The bedroom is upstairs so if you have any type of physical issues which prohibit you from using stairs, then I recommend not staying here. There are plenty of other apartments at that location which do not have stairs. 2. The A/C was an issue for several days because it's centrally controlled. We would notify the host and they would have maintenance get it functioning remotely. However, this continued for five days until finally maintenance set it to full on all the time...and of course we didn't have any more issues for the remainder of our stay in regards to the A/C. 3. There are towel warmers in both bathrooms. The upstairs can be turned on and off, however, the first floor can not and remained extremely hot throughout the entire time. We had to keep the door shut at all times, but the other problem with that is the washing machine is located in the same room. Therefore, it would get even hotter when clothes were drying. Basically, the room is too hot during the warmer months to be functional. Note: The host was notified about the issue several times and apparently there isn't anything that can be done to turn it off. 4. The bed is very firm and the pillows are flat. 5. There are not window coverings to prohibit sunlight from shining in starting around 6am which means by 7am the bedroom is completely lit up. 6. If you are a light sleeper, this apartment faces a parking lot, restaurant, and busy street, so be prepared to be awakened early morning or late night. Overall, I think the host and concierge were quick to respond to any requests, however, it seemed that those requests may have been a bit delayed in being resolved.

We stayed for 4 nights in the “Time” apartment and really loved it. The apartment is very well appointed and comfortable. We were able to cook in the beautiful and modern kitchen and clean our clothes in the convenient washer-dryer. The apartment is located within crawling distance of excellent restaurants like Brebere Pizza and Antico Ristoro di Cambi. The hotel baglioni staff (the apartments are owned and managed by that hotel) were in constant communication with me and were incredibly helpful multiple times. In fact, I left my passports in my safe by accident and they tracked me down to make sure we grabbed them before we left. I could not have asked for anything more from this property and management. Please do consider though that it is in Oltrarno, and not the middle of Florence, so there is a 10-15 min walk to get to the major sights. Not a big deal usually, but it was a bit of a pain in the hot summer with 95-105F temperatures. That being said, we did love being able to retire to a less crowded and loud location at the end of the day. I cannot recommend this property enough!
