The Residence Inn by Marriott has been awarded by the City of Florence Alabama as a certified Green hotel in the Shoals area. Whether you are traveling to this beautiful river locked city for a sporting event like a UNA football game, tournament fishing or swinging a golf club on the Robert Trent Jones Trail or are here to enjoy the areas rich cultural and musical heritage, the Residence Inn by Marriott is ready for you to come to check in and check them out.

This Hampton will be undergoing renovation for the rest of 2023, and they don’t seem to be handling it well at all. We were given a 4th floor room while serious construction work was being done just a few feet from our door, and the dust was so bad (read: very unhealthy!) that we had to ask for another floor. The second room was clean and comfortable; however, it was very dated and worn, clearly explaining the need for renovation. The facility is well-designed, and it will probably be an excellent place to stay once renovated. Meanwhile, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.

Sono stato in questo hotel dal primo mese che ha aperto l'estate del 2005. Anche se non ho avuto l'opportunità di tornare così spesso come mi piaceva più, questo è il mio secondo soggiorno in due anni. L'hotel è ancora in costruzione leggera per un rimarginato, ma è stato un ottimo soggiorno. Dal check-in, alla nuova stanza quasi senza spot, il letto e le mutandine erano confortevoli con un grande bagno e un bel balcone. Avresti preferito che la gestione scelga un piano vinile invece di un mattone, ma per ora è pulito e sembra buono. Come dimostrato nelle mie altre recensioni, i miei standard sono piuttosto elevati, ma non c'è nulla di cui non posso colpire, solo un fantastico Marriott. L'unica cosa che avrebbe migliorato il mio soggiorno sarebbe stato l'aggiornamento della suite che ho ricevuto l'ultima volta come membro di Bonvoy elite. Forse la prossima volta.

What a discovery !!! The Stricklin is a recently repurposed and renovated establishment. Very modern, very clean and pretty quiet given its location on North Court Street. We booked a large room which looked onto North Court Street. Well worth paying the extra. Although the hotel itself has no bar nor dining facilities there are franchises on the property which provide these. A bonus for live music lovers is a bar immediately next door which features live performances several days a week. We were touring Alabama and visiting the main local recording centres at Muscle Shoals. Florence was a great base for visiting these. Parking arrangements are weird. The hotel has no dedicated lot and there is metered parking all around - but you don't pay. If you do get a ticket then just tell reception. Would definitely return.

For the price, Baymont by Wyndham is an ok deal. It's location is close to dozens of restaurants. It's quiet, right off the main road. Our room for 3 was smaller than other Baymonts we've stayed in, with 2 double beds instead of queens, but we made it work. The beds were very comfy and the pillows were just right. Shower pressure was outstanding! The staff was friendly, breakfast was decent, featuring the magic conveyor belt pancake maker! We had a few stinkbugs visit the room...they zip in when the door is open, so be on the lookout for them when it's damp and rainy. Overall, for sleeping on the cheap, our stay was good.

We have stayed at this location before. They continue to keep their high standards for comfort and cleanliness. When I arrived since I had prepaid for my room, my information was verified and I was handed the keycard for my room. Felt just like home. The hall carpeting seems to have been updated and everything was fresh and clean. The bath towels are huge! Our king bed was very comfortable and a good choice of pillows. It was nice to have extended breakfast hours for the weekend. We love being able to sleep in. The 2 choices of waffles was a new experience too. My only request is if the cleaning lady could wait to mop the lobby until after breakfast hours. The smell of Pine-Sol while you are eating sausage gravy and biscuits does not mix well. I can appreciate that they have a lot to do in a small amount of time but it would make dining more pleasant.
