What an enormous disappointment. We were hugely looking forward to our stay at the Sahrai and we had so many issues during our stay. With a few exceptions - the delightful Ali, Adnan and Noucair, and heavenly Mohamad in security, the staff are surly, charmless and rude, particularly Chamae at the front desk who was the most passive aggressive receptionist we’ve ever come across. If you ask for a towel at the pool, expect an exasperated huff of a response from Boutayna. The service is unbelievably slow - I had to ask four times for some fruit and a coffee and it took nearly twenty minutes to arrive. It’s at least a half hour wait if you order a cocktail. I asked for a decaf coffee on the second day of our stay and wasn’t given decaf so spent the day in bed with a migraine. My daughter got food poisoning from the bolognese. We were told we could use the jacuzzi privately for an hour and half an hour in other guests joined which meant we left as we had children and didn’t want to disturb the other guests. As soon as I had got into the jacuzzi I put my hand down and found a huge clump of black hair. The handrail is unscrewed at the bottom so both me and my daughter fell and hurt ourselves. Bits of wood are missing from the outer edge of the jacuzzi - it all looks tired and sloppy. The bedrooms are corporate, soulless and smell of damp. I asked to see the general manager to discuss our experience and he was off that day. I then asked to speak to the duty manager, who came to talk to me and could not have looked more bored if he tried. He didn’t look me in the eye, seemed completely uninterested and unbothered by our poor experience and just said ‘I can offer you a dessert.’ This hotel is nowhere near the calibre of either a 5 star or of the SLH group and I will be writing a report to the Managing Director of SLH so they are aware.
