At $25 a night, this place is not the cheapest option but at the time I was happy to pay for a private room. The room is very basic but had everything I required. The place is in a good location and looks beautiful and the owner is so welcoming until they have your money. Then I was given a key and shown the back door on the other side of the building so I no longer had access to the beautiful reception area shown in the photos. I don't expect full housekeeping everyday but perhaps a sweep every 2 or 3 days and empty the toilet paper bin, replace toilet paper. After check in I never saw the father again. My room was never cleaned including the toilet paper bin not emptied for ten days and I had to ask the housekeeper when I ran out of toilet paper. She did do a load of laundry for me on request, for the money I paid, it should be included. The first time I met the son, I was enquiring about a group tour to Chefchaouen, he quoted me $100 Euro and I informed him that was way too expensive and out of the question. He didn't want to speak with me after that. I never saw another person except the housekeeper once or twice, for the next ten days. When my plans changed and I needed to extend for three more days there was no one to speak to so I went and knocked on the fancy front door. The son answered the door and wanted to know, 'Where is your key?' Why I was using this door and not the back door. Not very friendly. The pipes in the bathroom make a loud noise everytime someone else flushes a toilet and the kids outside are very noisy until about 2300 most nights so difficult to work or sleep but thats not the riads fault, just something to be aware of. In retrospect, there are so many other places you could go. This is not the worst but by far not the best.
