Hotel in zona Jardim do Bacalhau, Évora

La posizione è perfetta in questa bella città, passeggiata. La materassi è stata la più comoda del nostro soggiorno. Il colazione servito nella vostra stanza è stato scontato e vale la pena. Abbiamo incontrato un problema con la nostra auto di noleggio che Joni ha superato e oltre per aiutarci a risolvere.

We spent a wonderful seven nights at the Convento in May. We booked directly with the hotel and requested an upper floor room (there are only ground level or first floor rooms in the new part of the accommodation) which we were given. It was quite far from the reception (room 149) but was quite a big room with a balcony looking over the countryside and sun in the afternoon which was fantastic (and pushed up our daily steps quota!). The location of the hotel is perfect for those looking for a peaceful break. Évora is easily reached by taxi (average about 10€) but it's also worth giving the two on site restaurants a try. Be aware that it's best to reserve well in advance and the more informal Italian option wasn't open every night during our stay. The bar also does food but the one night we used this we had to wait a very long time for the food to arrive (not so much of a problem in the wonderful surroundings of the Convento, but still...). This is overall a 5 star property but there were some aspects which we thought required attention. As others have mentioned, you will need to book a time slot for your breakfast. There seemed to be frequent coachloads of mainly American tourists who all took breakfast during the earlier slots so you should bear this in mind. It didn't really bother us but we had to take a slot nearer to 09:00 every day which might be an inconvenience for some. We requested a kettle for our room as well as cups but had to ask three times before they were delivered to us. Towards the end of our stay we were pleasantly surprised to receive a complementary bottle of the house espumante. We really would recommend taking one of the wine tasting sessions and the short guided tour of the Convento. Apart from the fantastic location, the superb grounds and pool plus everything else we have mentioned, the 'fifth star' at this accommodation is definitely the staff who were always smiling and ready to help/offer advice when needed. This hotel is amazing! The rooms are spacious and very clean, the restaurant is great, there is an indoor pool, a sauna and a gym and the outside areas are also great. You don’t need to leave the premises. What makes this a five star rating: twice a day the rooms are provided with water. At the end of the day they will bring biscuits by, the restaurant is open all day (great when traveling with kids) - also for room- and pool-service. There are many activities for kids and they provide the cutest little presents for babies by arrival. They just have much attention for detail and really make an effort to make your stay pleasant! Make sure you don’t mind kids, since there are many of them ;)

First the good. Most of the staff are very nice. The bar and restaurant area are pleasant and so is the pool area. Water pressure in the shower is good. However, this is not up to 4 star standards. The rooms are dated. The doors don't fit properly and there are gaps. It is the first time I have seen a shower curtain over a bath in an hotel in many years. The TV is a very small free standing TV. There is a terrace but it only has one chair. On our second day after housekeeping had been we were faced with stained bath towels, we took them back to the housekeeping room but there was noone there so we swapped them with unstained ones. Certainly not acceptable in any class of hotel. The restaurant is nice and the food is good, but only buffet. Breakfast is extremely noisy because the hotel caters to coach parties and conferences. The breakfast food is nothing great but ok. The pool area is nice but although there is a member of staff in the pool bar area you have to get dry and dressed to go into the hotel to get food and drinks, not really great for a supposed 4 star hotel. The pool also was full of flying ants,/mosquitos on the first day, although there were a few less on the second day.

L'albergo si trova appena fuori le mura della città, in 10 minuti a piedi si raggiunge il centro. In camera sono presenti tutti elettrodomestici di design. C'è a disposizione una macchina Nespresso con capsule e bollitore. Stupendo il bagno e doccia separati, veramente una grande idea! Bella la piscina e il bar sul rooftop. Molto comoda anche la palestra. Colazione a buffet buonissima, omelette preparate al momento e macchina per i waffle, c'è tutto a disposizione. Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo

Non un grande inizio, ma è andato meglio per i 4 giorni. La nostra arrivo era freddo, soprattutto la signora manager che non poteva rompere un sorriso per i suoi clienti. Quindi è un hotel 4 stelle che voleva pagare per la stanza in alto. Poi non hanno accettato Amex e infine il servizio di lavanderia è stato sospeso, ma potrebbero darci i dettagli di farlo da soli lavanderie in città. Non è un buon inizio per il nostro costoso soggiorno. Questo diceva che avevamo un bungalow molto bello, ben mantenuto e un bel ritiro freddo dal calore esterno. Grande pressione di doccia, letti confortevoli. Tutte le cose importanti per una vacanza. Il strano processo di dover prenotare ore specifiche per colazione e cena non ha avuto molto senso, soprattutto perché non ci sono mai più di 4 tavoli occupati per i tempi che eravamo li'. Potrebbe essere un processo ancora in corso dalla pandemia. La gioiello era la piscina al tetto e il solarium. Un bel posto per rifrire dopo il turismo. Il personale che abbiamo assunto era molto bello e utile. È una vergogna che la nostra esperienza iniziale sia stata attenuata dalla gestione e alcune politiche oscure che non si aspettavano per un hotel con 4 stelle.

Situato appena fuori le mura di Evora, l'hotel è abbastanza carino, ha una piscina interna dove vengono forniti anche gli asciugamani , noi li abbiamo chiesti alle 17.00 ma li avevano finiti, forse perchè non annotano a chi li danno e qualcuno probabilmente se li porta a casa :-) nel complesso la camera era pulita anche se un pò piccola per 3 persone, la colazione normale, il parcheggio si trova facilmente nei pressi.

Staying in a historic place full of history that was preserved is always something to retain. On top of that feel being well received is always good. The place is amazing, the people are friendly, definitely a place to return and enjoy not only the Pousada but also the Arraiolos village and the surrounds.
