Villa de l'Ô

Superb Riad inside the fortified Medina of Essaouira. Great team on reception able to speak French and English. Capacious rooms with wonderful ensuite. Fabulous breakfast with different patisserie and egg options and very attentive service. Suitcases carted outside to waiting taxi as not able to enter Medina

Upon our arrival at Villa De L'Ô, we were warmly greeted by Nouredino, whose friendliness and helpfulness set a welcoming tone for our stay. Over the course of five days, we found the highlight of our experience to be the exceptional service provided by the entire team. The hotel is at a prime location, just a few minutes' walk from both the main shopping areas and the beach. Included in our stay, the breakfast was plentiful, ensuring a great start to our day. The rooftop area was fantastic, providing panoramic views of the sea. The bedrooms at Villa De L'Ô offered comfort and a good night's sleep after days filled with activities. It's important to note that while Villa De L'Ô provides a lovely experience, it is not a high-end five-star establishment. Some imperfections are present, but they do not detract from the overall quality and charm of the stay.

Best suite in Villa ‘ Opium’ Dirty, run down, broken floors, blood on pillow case, mild and dirt on walls/windows/shower, stained toilet seat, pillow cases don’t fit the old lumpy pillows. Staff allow smoking at breakfast, management refused to discuss the problems, just cleaned the damaged room. TV doesn’t work at all. Overpriced and not sanitary, hygienic or worth the money. GO Elsewhere! Hotel smells bad.

At first glance the Villa de L'Ô is everything you would want from an ancient Riad set just inside the walled city of Essaouira. An old mercantile trading house with an inner courtyard, stone colonnades, and two levels of bedrooms. Light filters through the atrium roof to the courtyard below, bringing alive a byegone era of sepia tones, comfy chairs, sumptuous drapes and well worn tomes. It is a shame that the existing staff of Noureddine, Ishmael and Naima who offer guests a warm welcome, excellent breakfasts, and well kept bedrooms are not complimented by the benign neglect the owners Unik Palais Charme Hotels have allowed this hotel to fall into. À première vue, la Villa de L'Ô est tout ce que vous attendez d'un ancien Riad situé juste à l'intérieur de la ville fortifiée d'Essaouira. Une ancienne maison de négoce marchande avec une cour intérieure, des colonnades en pierre et deux niveaux de chambres. La lumière filtre à travers le toit de l'atrium jusqu'à la cour en contrebas, faisant revivre une époque révolue de tons sépia, de fauteuils confortables, de somptueux rideaux et de tomes bien usés. Il est dommage que le personnel existant de Noureddine, Ishmael et Naima qui offrent aux clients un accueil chaleureux, d'excellents petits déjeuners et des chambres bien entretenues ne soit pas complété par la négligence bénigne dans laquelle les propriétaires Unik Palais Charme Hotels ont laissé tomber cet hôtel.

We had the Prestige room overlooking the beach which was a spectacular vista to wake up to. It is huge with a bathroom the size of most hotel rooms. It had a beautiful sunken bath and separate shower. The building itself is full of French colonial artefacts and furniture. Lovely roof terrace where you can watch the world go by and all ages kite surfing, surfing or playing football on the beach. The hotel also has the benefit of been just inside the medina so easy to access restaurants, shops etc but at the same time also easy to get to the beach (200 yards away). Breakfast was good and included fruit salad. breads, cakes, omelette/ scrambled egg, freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee. Would definitely return!

Good value for money and great location. We visited Essaouira for a few days and enjoyed it very much. Most of our time we were kitesurfing and we sleeped in this nice hotel for 4 days. If you're looking for a good location, this hotel is the right choice
