17 Wilmington Square

Our room (room 8) was gorgeous- spacious, with a sea view and lovely en suite bathroom with a bath and shower. A suite really. Janine and her son Ben and their team couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. It feels luxurious and opulent - more like a luxury hotel than a B&B and there’s a wealth of interesting wall art, books and ornaments. The breakfast was delicious too - juices yoghurts fresh fruit and cereals to start and a menu of cooked options as well as smoked salmon. Truly wonderful - we’ll be back!

We stayed for 2 nights. We received a warm welcome from Ben who was helpful, friendly and fun. We were told the bed and breakfast was family run and that’s just what it felt like. It was very clean, comfortable and well run with little extras like tissues in the room, shower gel and face cloths. The breakfast was absolutely lovely. Just couldn’t fault it. We had a lovely stay and will definitely be back.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough! Attentive, but not overbearing, service. Large, tall ceilinged rooms. Lovely decor. A minute from the beach. Plenty of restaurants and pubs nearby. GREAT breakfast. It ticked every box that I could think of- and even a couple that I hadn’t. Ten out of ten. A wonderful find.

We arrived before 11:00am but were allowed to leave our luggage and get a £2.20 parking voucher before heading off to the nearby tennis. Our room was no:12 on the top floor. The views from the room were of the rear and garages of other buildings which wasn’t great, but not an issue as we weren’t in the room much nor there for the view. The room was very clean and tidy with a good sizes bed, there were the usual facilities, tea/coffee, TV and bottles of water and a reasonable quality wifi. In the bathroom good quality towels, toiletries and a hairdryer. The breakfast was great, continental and/or a full English with nothing too much trouble. Speaking with the other guest many of them had been returning for many years during tennis week. We will certainly be back if in the area.

My wife and I chose this hotel because of the wonderful reviews it receives and because it is very close to Devonshire Park Tennis Club. Our room was large and very well equipped. All the usual facilities were provided in addition there was a trouser press, quality coat hangers in the wardrobe, and in the bathroom were make-up remover pads, a small magnifying mirror, two face cloths, shower cap and good quality toilet paper! The hospitality tray had cups as well as mugs, saucers and an almost unlimited supply of coffee, tea, milk and hot chocolate. Also drinking water was supplied in glass bottles which were refilled when empty. Breakfast, which is INCLUDED in the room price unlike many hotels was magnificent. For me the highlights were the lovely fried bread, homemade granola and homemade marmalade. But what makes 17, Wilmington Square so special is the staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. The personal attention we received was second to none. If you want a quality hotel at a reasonable price in a well furnished/decorated room this is the hotel for you. Finally, I almost forgot, there is a guests lounge with travel books and lots of information about Eastbourne and the surrounding area.

A lovely size room well equipped with a beautifully comfortable bed. A bath and shower with great power and hot water, A bonus heated towel rail that was on with good sized towels. A warm welcome from the host, parking is £2.20 for the two night stay and parking directly outside is great if available. Breakfast was fabulous, service fantastic and faultless, lovely to not be rushed to eat and go. All round great stay. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to stay.
