East Ayton Lodge Hotel, Scarborough

Set in the lovely village of East Ayton , the Lodge was ideal for our overnight stay. Well appointed and with a beautiful lawn and friendly , well informed staff,it was just right. Just outside Scarborough but near enough for the Tom Jones concert.

My friend and I called here for lunchtime sandwiches and drinks after a walk with our dogs in Raincliffe Woods. We couldn't have been made more welcome by the owners and the staff. The food was great and reasonably priced, the 3 dogs were greeted with a bowl of water each as we sat in the beautiful gardens under the shade of the trees, and they were each fussed and given a Bonio as a treat. The interior decor is lovely with a bar and large conservatory, dogs welcomed inside too. We'll definitely return, it's on our doorstep and we'll be regulars.

We arrived on a sunny Sunday & were welcomed by lovely staff, the young lad who checked us in was very helpful when we were trying to sort transport out. There was live music in the beautiful garden & he was fabulous. Our room was spacious & clean with all needed facilities. Following our stay I received a lovely email offering us a return stay at a discount price with a complimentary bottle of wine or Prosecco. This was the perfect touch & would very much encourage me to return. The cost of the room was really good value for what we had, would totally recommend to stay here.

Had a lovely 1 nights stay in a courtyard room which was very comfortable and a big room as it was a family room, even though there was just the 2 of us. Very clean and spotless, comfortable bed! The breakfast was excellent as was the service! Had a drink in the garden which was so peaceful surrounded by woodland. The restaurant, lounge and bar areas were beautiful and full of character and charm. My only criticism is that the bedroom door is glass with a small curtain that doesn't cover the whole of the glass, the security light was intermittent all night and disturbed our sleep a little. Saying that it won't deter us from staying again as apart from that it was a really lovely stay.

The staff are all so friendly and helpful we had a wonderful four day break beautiful garden overlooked by spacious conservatory . Very clean throughout the hotel will definitely be going back again .Breakfast consistently very good and always piping hot and extremely tasty .A great find in a lovely location . Many thanks. On first impression this hotel looks excellent. Plenty of parking, a lovely looking old building inside and out, great service and clean looking BUT............. after staying for 3 nights we were somewhat disappointed by the end of our stay. Firstly we had used and unwashed cups in the bedroom and no biscuits and a basic selection of just tea or coffee. There were cobwebs on the chandelier, dust in the room corners, on the window seat and in the wardrobe. The quilt also had a large coffee stain or something else on it. Also power sockets are poorly placed. Breakfast was a mixed affair. The first morning there was no fruit and we were told they had run out of bread. The cooked breakfast was also cold. Things improved on the following mornings however the tea and coffee were supplied in catering flasks and both were like drinking dishwater with no flavour whatsoever. An evening meal we had was excellent though. The service from the staff was generally good and it's a shame that but for some niggly shortcomings our score could've been 4 or even 5. I'd love to recommend this hotel but certain elements need improvement in our opinion so it's a tough one. If the above are addressed definitely yes but as it stands......I'll leave that decision to you.

Turned up and booked a room. Staff were excellent friendly and welcoming. We we given a room in courtyard and it was extremely clean and homely. Bathroom shower sink toilet were spotless. Totally chilled place and will certainly return. Next time we will have the breakfast and a meal. Fantastic gem of a place near Scarborough 5*facility and excellent value for money

Excellent service and phenomenal food. We tried the new lunch menu today which had lots to choose from. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion of food. Drinks were a good price, not too expensive like some hotel bars. Lots of space inside and out to enjoy the lovely surroundings. This is definitely more than a hotel. I would highly recommend you try the bar and grill if you haven’t done so already. Thank you all for this lovely experience

Great place to stay, a short drive from the coast and beautiful Moors. The staff are friendly, particularly Lottie who went out of her way to greet us everyday. Dogs are more than welcome. The food was good and breakfast can be described as small but tasty! You might want to take a sleep mask as the blinds in the annex don’t keep out the light! But overall a peaceful and relaxing retreat, we would stay again
